I'm thinking this time, it'll be Simmons who goes. Just because it'll cause Fitz to be all overly dramatic and beat himself up for thinking they were immortal and shit. But even so, I think Deke will hang around, because... Well, that would be interesting.
Some how, I'm thinking the only characters on this entire show that's safe is Daisy and Mac. Mac has been set up so many damn times to buy it and that awesome motherfucker just keeps kicking like crazy!

....this idea literally just came to me.
So, it's pretty clear that despite the "it's all connected" speel, the TV shows have more or less gotten decoupled from the MCU. The Thanos namedrop and upcoming Snappening are the first connection we've gotten in a pretty long time, right?
And it seems pretty obvious they're setting this up as a possible Series Finale in case it doesn't get picked up, yes?
We already know a younger Coulson is gonna be in Captain Marvel.
What if he's gonna get dusted so when they fix the Gauntlet mess we get Phil back in the Movies?

Just going to put this very valid criticism right here...

And this just in from GotG Director James Gunn. The translation of Groot's final words to Rocket at the end of the movie: "Dad."
Which then made me think of that line Rocket said where "Personally, I have a lot to lose." He really doesn't realize yet just how much he's lost. The closest thing he's got to a friend anymore is Nebula.

Just saw it on Sunday. My shell shock over the snap was quickly dispelled when characters like Spidey and Black Panther dusted. There is no way in this universe or any other that those characters stay dead. They are worth way too damn much money, and Sony would flip their shit. So the reset button is getting smacked, no biggie. Had they kept it to characters who'd been in the MCU and played out their individual franchises, or who were relatively minor and "expendable", I might've believed this was permanent. But come the fuck on, Spidey 2 has a release date even.

Yeah...the only people I expect to stay dead are the ones we saw bite it at the beginning (Loki, Heimdall).
But even though this is a case of, "of course these characters will return", I find this one of those things where, even though I know what they'll do, I still anticipate how they're going to do it. I doubt they think they're fooling anyone, but Marvel's films have gained so much goodwill and trust with the audience, people will still be along for the ride.

The closest thing he's got to a friend anymore is Nebula. Thor and Rocket will bond over mutual loss, shared adventure, love of weapons and thirst for vengeance. Nebula, on the other hand, was supposed to get a new "BFF" according to the Russos. Maybe they were referring to part 2 as it seems they were with Hawkeye this whole time.

Just going to put this very valid criticism right here... So, I've seen this argument a few places, and I can think of some counterpoints to it. - Thanos is crazy. Whatever his original intentions were, I don't think he started out at "kill half the population". He's fallen pretty far beyond accepting reason. - The gems are infinite, but the gauntlet isn't. Wiping out half the universe clearly banged up the Gauntlet a lot. While the comics Infinity Gauntlet literally had no limitations, the movie one seems to have some rather serious drama preserving ones. It may be that providing enough resources for the universe to never have this problem again was simply more than the gauntlet could actually do. Thus reducing the population by half solves the problem on a near-permanent basis, as it'll take a lot of time for life to build up to that degree again, and having seen what it takes to ensure such things, they might follow Thanos' example afterwards.

Seems like they're setting A4 up to be the Magnificent Seven Six Ride Again, that the Original 6 Avengers go out on top as the big damn heroes, and the "great cost" that the Russos are referring to is it's going to be a handing off of the mantle for them. Tony HAD to live for them to win, per Dr. Strange, and between what Wanda put in his head in Age of Ultron and watching Parker (who clearly was becoming a psudeo father/son thing) literally dissolve in his arms, Stark is going to ANYTHING necessary to make this right. It will cost him his life - My guess is he winds up sacrificing himself to the Soul Stone to undo the other deaths. Cap dies as well, handing off the title and shield to either Bucky and/or Falcon, and so on. It'll close out the first arc of the MCU at that end and set up the new stuff.
