There are also other symptoms scientists have linked to Covid as well from "Covid Toes" all the way up to hallucinations.
Here in Arkansas, we are ranging from 500 to nearly a 1000 new cases a day with about 5-10 deaths per day. I know it's not as bad as other states but still bad enough. I also found out the other day a friend of mine, a man who taught me how to drive in driver's ed, had passed away after fighting Covid-19. You hear about other people's experiences but it hits a little closer to home and makes it a bit more real when it happens to someone you know personally.

State of disaster declared for the state of Victoria here. Stage 3 restrictions in rural areas, stage 4 in Melbourne, masks when outside or at work, all that fun. Wheeeeee.

Just thought I'd pop in this thread to see if everyone is still doing ok.
My family and myself are doing ok but I am scared shitless for my niece and sister. Despite health officials recommending otherwise, schools opened last week in the state. My niece started 6th grade and my sister is a freshman in college. I know both are smart when it comes to mask and social distancing but it's the other people in the crowded schools that might not follow the guidelines as closely. Hell my sister has to stay on campus this year because it's a freshman requirement and she has a roommate as well. I know none of us can shelter forever but I still worry for them.

Yeah, I feel you, iacon. I've got three nieces and a nephew, and both my sister and brother in law are in some way extra-vulnerable to the virus. They're starting school, but thankfully it'll be interactive, not in-person (it was going to be, but something changed last minute).
Additionally, the husband of a longtime friend of my Mom's recently passed away, and Mom decided to drive out to Michigan for a couple weeks. She knows to wear a mask, plenty of sanitary wipes, and doesn't plan to do a lot of socializing (though for two weeks? Likely will try and see some family on top of my aforementioned sister). Even so, I'm not thrilled that she's heading out for so long, because she, too, is vulnerable, but it's not like she'd listen to me if I asked her not to go.
If there was something or someone I could just wallop with a broomstick for five or ten minutes to make this insanity end...

COVID-19 put through supercomputer!
And it didn't infect the computer, construct itself a giant robot body, and start smashing things up. Instead, we get a better understanding of the tenacious bugger.

Might sound naive, but I was hoping just a little that Trump experiencing Covid himself might change his tune on how he handled and managed the virus going forward...looks like I was wrong...

Assuming it's not another lie...I wouldn't put it past him to pretend to have the virus, get over it quickly because he's "so amazing", and play it up for more votes. However, he has looked a little disheveled, and I don't think he's a good enough actor to pull that off.
However, he did have access to round-the-clock care and even a new treatment no one else has gotten, as well as getting caught early, so there's a definite privilege that comes with the office that, if he's getting over it, has less to do with any success than just being pampered. Doesn't excuse how callously he's been behaving since leaving the hospital.
