Variety says of Batwoman Kinda sounds like they’re going for the same ham-fisted, preachy, self-righteous vibe that Supergirl started rolling with after season 1. Not sure if that’s going to encourage me to watch it for more than a few episodes. And after this season’s slogs, I’m going to need encouragement to keep watching the Arrowverse shows. Why does Doom Patrol have to be so good and make everything else look so bad?

I'm inclined to agree. I snark about new Supergirl episodes at the Comics Pit (the remnants of the now defunct Outhouse), and when asked I still watch, I could only respond with a shrugging Spider-Man. I can see what the writers are going for, but dammit, they just keep doing it in the same terrible fashion over and OVER. There are a few genuinely entertaining elements, like the cast still being decent actors, more or less, but their talents are wasted on lousy executions of ideas that've been done better elsewhere.
At least it doesn't cost me $3.99.
I don't really much care about Kate Kane (don't love or hate her), but I'll give it an episode or two. Even though for some people "giving something a chance" is the same thing as "liking and praising everything about it."

The important thing we need to remember about the CW shows is that first and foremost, they're shows meant for teenagers. Yeah, adults watch them, but they're shows for teens. Like literally, we're talking about 90210, Teen Wolf, Riverdale, Gossip Girl level of meant for teens. Sure, there's some mind numbingly dumbass moments in the shows... My wife refers to Barry Allen as the living idiot ball... But compared to other teen shows, this is on par.
Not everything can or should be Veronica Mars.

They must not think very highly of teenagers...

Along with Batwoman, the Riverdale spin-off Katy Keene and the new Nancy Drew have been green-lit to series, if anyone needs further proof to validate Mach's assessment.

I'll be heart-broken if they fuck up Crisis on Infinite Earths.
Nora West Allen....the apple didn't fall far from the tree.
I thought the Agent Liberty origin episode was the highlight of this season, really showing how recurring personal tragedy due to all the alien incursions to led to his xenophobia. After that, though, it was business as usual, writers making their points with all the subtlety of a mallet to the head.

*looks at recent Batman casting announcement*
I'm okay with this. Ignoring those particular films, he's actually a really good actor. But....
*looks over at Sporky and takes a few steps back*

Deadline is saying it's not a done deal yet and Nicholas "Beast" Hoult is also being considered.

What, Robert Pattinson?
Sure, I've may've taken a few shots at Twilight, like a lot of people, but I got no problem with him. I think I've only seen him in that one Harry Potter flick, but he was fine.
