It's amazing what having not only a director that cares, but a director who has experience in animation can do, huh?
(And a screenwriter who cares as well! Rumors have it that she's wanting to write the next one like a Smokey and the Bandit, car chase movie... I could see that working!)

Smokey and the Bandit style story would be a great time to reintroduce Barricade. Optimus would be obvious as "Snowman" but I'd like to see another Autobot with Bee. Maybe Pipes, Huffer, or go obscure with a movie version of G1 Overload.

Can’t believe I forgot to add in my own review.
To keep it short- it was as good as I was hoping it was. It got me pumped with the opening scene on Cybertron, it kept me engaged with the human characters, there were lots of people to like & root for, the action was great & easy to follow, the humor worked, and it even made me a little misty-eyed during the end, when Charlie & BB had to part ways.
It restored my interest in the live action movies, and I hope they continue to forge a new path going forward.
Bumblebee is a movie I will buy the moment it arrives in stores & happily watch many times. I cannot say the same for the last 3 Bay movies.

Yup, already pre-ordered my copy on Amazon. I'm an 80s nut anyway so the soundtrack alone blew me away (maybe I'm having my midlife crisis...). Really hope this is the end of the Bayverse and it's nastiness.

Is it really a mid-life crisis if it took you until mid-life to finally afford the expensive things we always wanted?

(Well, with me, it was when I turned 39, I uprooted my entire life, moved across several states to an unknown place, all for some girl. It worked out great, as I'm married, with an actual career now and stuff. But yeah. I was 39.)

I think that can be a good thing though. Most people stay stuck in a rut their whole lives and never have the guts to take a big risk like that & change their whole lives around.

Now I remember... After seeing the movie there were two things about it that I took issue with. Couldn’t remember one of them until just now, so I'm finally posting about it. One was that it seemed to “Iron Giant” a little hard, but that’s not altogether a bad thing. The other was how much 80’s music it played at me. I was ages 3-13 in the 80’s, so the only things I remember fondly about the decade were the toys and cartoons. The music, fashion, and overall aesthetic of the time was and is still horrifying to me. Other than that...I liked it a lot. Now the Cybertron stuff...that stuff was positively breathtaking. It FELT like I was finally seeing live action Transformers after all these years. That alone was worth the price of admission
