So-
Coming this December (unless changes), starring JOHN CENA, directed NOT by Bay but instead by Travis Knight (he did "Kubo and the Two Strings" which was a cute little film).
Any hopes for this at all?
What I find most amusing is suddenly changing Bee back to a VW bug. When you think about it, Bumblebee has been a Camero long enough for newer fans to start bitching about THIS change "ruining their childhood."

Isn't that like complaining because someone set a grease dumpster on fire? I really don't have any faith in this at all. It may not have Bay's fingerprints all over it, but it's still set in the same craptastic universe where all the best stuff had already been twisted beyond enjoyability.

Eh, it could be the pocket reboot people have theorized is coming given how underperforming TLK did.
Bay's control on the movies and the viability of the franchise only extends as long as it kept making billions of dollars. TLK vastly underperformed, and given this is a prequel of sorts, unless they *heavily* reference other stuff (which given the scale mentioned, they could avoid easily enough), this could be like X-Men First Class or Days of Future Past where they conveniently allow themselves to cut ties with previous continuity.

Look, if nothing else, the summary for the movie pretty much being Transformers: Herbie wins points from me. And even Movie Bumblebee is less bloodthirsty than the Love Bug.

I look at it this way... Bay's not involved, so at the very least, the movie will be coherent.
What I hope: AN X-Men First Class style of reboot that can try and bring some dignity back to the franchise. What I expect: As MD said... Bumblebee: Herbie. Which will still be more dignified than the Last Knight.

Right now, Im willing to give BB the benefit of the doubt and give it a watch. After the mess with TLK, Im ready for a different direction. I just hope if BB turns out and good and acts as a reset, they dont bring back Bay for TF6 and crap all over it like DoFP did to what was set up in XMen First Class.

I've been in the praying to Unicron (what? Don't look at me like that ) First Class-esque soft reboot for some time. It might at least be coherent without Bay, but I don't have high hopes. I am curious to see how 'bee's robot mode merges his old school chunky Bug look with the design he's had for the last decade plus though.

Seems they've changed the designs a bit for this too, if this leaked package art is anything to go by... Attachments:

I kinda like it. It's still very movie influenced, but it's a lot more streamlined... Almost a but like TF: Prime in that manner. Let's "what the hell am I looking at" and more "Oh hey! It's an actual color scheme!"
