Yeah, that part is definitely familiar.
The fact that TFD didn’t make money, & we all basically devoted our time & effort for free makes our experience there even more galling, because they had the nerve to treat us all like bad employees getting sat down in the office to be disciplined.

That's the thing, nobody at CA was employed by CA except the Walkers, Michaud and for a time the HR person. The producers got to keep the ad revenue generated by the videos being on their individual Blip channel... and then only after Linkara sort of forced that issue. CA meanwhile got all the display ad revenue from the site, all of the merch sales including DVDs, and all ad revenue from crossovers filmed during the making of the anniversary movies. The fact money got involved makes it a whole other ball of wax, especially once this became people's livelihood.

If YouTube commenter "Tornado1994" is correct, then the Walkers, Tamara Chambers, and Malcolm Rey have all quit Channel Awesome.
So now, Mike Michaud owns the Nostalgia Critic character, but is currently bereft of performers. I suppose he could try getting someone else to play the necessary parts, write the scripts and everything...but good luck finding someone that'll work with him for very long.

I haven't seen any confirmation of that but that would be definitely a surprising move. I didn't think Doug Walker would leave Channel Awesome and risk giving up the Nostalgia Critic since that is pretty much his lively hood but if true, then this should definitely be a crippling blow to Channel Awesome and hopefully be the catalyst for the change people are asking for. I do wonder though if the Walkers did leave, if it was because they also want to see some change or if they left simply because they felt pressured to do so. Also on a side note, I noticed that NC finally posted his latest review to YT last night and had 9,000 dislikes. But the movie was Jack and Jill so I dont know if the dislikes were for the CA situation, the movie itself, or both.

Thing is... from what the producers have said, the Walkers aren't innocent in this. Michaud is obviously the focal point, but the Walkers are at least complicit in allowing his behavior to go on. They also made promises which were not kept, and their behavior was not always exactly exemplary. Whether they stay or go, they still go down with this ship.
Now, Tamara and Malcolm, they are apparently innocent in all this. I hope whatever happens, they land on their feet someplace.

Tornado1994 mentioned that Doug's Facebook page has made the change to "worked at Channel Awesome". I checked, and sure enough, it's definitely past tense.
I mean, he and Rob still need to make formal, apologetic statements, but he has apparently left.

Y'know, when the Woody Woodpecker and Jack and Jill reviews dropped, even though it was after the big reveal, it made a kind of sense that they'd have a couple eps ready ahead of time (I mean, I do, too, but my episodes aren't terrible elaborate).
Then the Fievel Goes West review showed up in Recommendations, and it was a little unexpected, but it was only a short time before it was announced Doug had left CA.
And just now they uploaded a review for Starship Troopers, and I'm wondering just how many more eps they've got left in the pipeline. Also, there's a new Top 5 from the formerly Awesome Comics crew, but I don't know if any of them are still attached to CA. And the channel subscribers have dropped about 20,000 since earlier this month. It might have steadied off for now...unless they run out of content, then I imagine more people will tune out.

It makes sense there's stuff in the pipeline. Those shows have gotten kind of elaborate, and there's a lot of editing and even post-production VFX and shit they do. But yeah, even if there's still a base of viewers who just watches the videos and is unaware of the behind the scenes stuff and community outrage, they'll unsub as soon as the channel stops updating. Or they won't, but it'll hardly matter if the channel has no views because the shows people liked are gone.

And CA just put up a Sibling Rivalry about Infinity War.
...maybe they managed to see the movie the day before they decided to quit Channel Awesome?
F&*k if I know anymore.
