Just a quick review...I'll forego individual Dinobot reviews since most of you have the first four already. Sludge and Snarl are more of the same, solid little updates of the originals. PROS: -He's big. -He's color coordinated. -He's the first official G1 inspired Dinobot combiner. -He looks impressive CONS: -Floppy as hell, top heavy, doesn't stand up or pose as well as he Combiner Wars gestalts. Weak knee joints. -Some parts that are supposed to solidify the combined mode, like the tabs on his shoulder plates, don't clip together solidly -The extra set of hands/armor plates that are supposed to attach to his torso look silly -The lack of weapons for his combined mode is a huge problem. This is the first time I'm tempted to look at third part accessories -The fact that Slash has no way to combine with the others, even as a weapon, is a crime. So, far from perfect. The design of the Dinobots themselves could have been better executed without the compromises made to make them combiners. Plus I would have preferred a gun and sword for each rather than a hand or foot. They're still good figures with the gestalt being a bonus if you choose to combine them. I'm hoping Abominus combines better than these guys.

So, I agree on the weapons thing. I kind of stole a Laser Rod sword from one of my TR Optimuses for him and Grimlock to use. Also, I've been configuring him differently for the legs which seems to have helped a bit with stability overall.

I've seen where people take the extra hands from the sides of Volcanicus' torso and plug them into the back of the feet attachments to better help with stability. I do agree though Goji that I would have rather seen Hasbro forgo making the Dinobots a combiner. I'd rather have seen some larger scaled figures myself. Grimlock as a Leader and the others as Voyagers. Also have to echo the thoughts on the weapons. If they had to sacrifice one weapon, I would have rather seen the guns go and all of them have swords. The fact that Grimlock didnt have any meaningful weapon was a crime in and of itself. But considering it took Has/Tak TWELVE YEARS to finally make a full set of Classics Dinobots, I'm not going to complain too hard and just be happy with them. As for Abominus, it could be certain production runs, but some are reporting that the shoudler joints on Hungrrr that become Abominus' hip joints are a very soft ratchet and the tooth doesn't make full contact with the gear. Mine is also this way. It holds ok as Hungrr's arm but attach a combiner leg and it flops in the breeze.

Was home sick most of the day today so I decided to go ahead and see Volcanicus for myself. Wow....this guy is wobbly as hell. But that's not the worst issue. On Swoop, Slag, and Sludge, when combined, the tabs that are supposed to keep their lower legs locked together is weak as hell and keep coming undone with any motion. At least in dino mode, Slag and Sludge's tail and Swoops legs plugging into his back help hold the seams together.
