I got an iPad Pro last year with the intent of drawing on it, but I just can't get used to it. "Inking" maybe, coloring sure, but drawing the initial image I just can't get the hang of. It's probably partly a matter of me needing to learn how to use Procreate, but it's also just the idea of zooming in and out, and the lack of friction is... odd.

This is still the reason I pencil on paper. I've gotten the hang of everything else digitally, but pencilling? I need the art board and pencils for that. I know there's a way to scan it in with your iPhone, which Jim Lee does for his artwork to send off... But I'm not there yet.

Scanning artwork with a phone? I've done that for documents, like receipts for work expenses, but not for artwork. There's always going to be skew that needs correcting, and even the best phone camera won't get you the same resolution as a basic flatbed scanner. Maybe if you just want it for a background layer to ink back over, and there's not a lot of fine detail but... I dunno man.
Edit: This conjured memories of me buying my first scanner from Staples and riding all the way home with it hanging off the handlebar of my bike. Which created quite a balance issue given the weight of a late 90's scanner. Meeeeeeeemories....
