I've got a few aunts in nursing homes that I was planning on visiting, but canceled those plans just in case. Plus my daughter's boyfriend's father is currently undergoing aggressive treatment for advanced lung cancer. Those are the people I'm worried about.

It's funny that you say that about hand sanitizer as the supply has been blown out everywhere. Amazon actually had to crack down on third party sellers that were selling that, and surgical masks, at inflated scalper prices. So again, highly functioning germophobe...I buy my sanitizer in huge bottles from Sam’s Club and I’m pretty well stocked

Apparently Ted Cruz has self quarantined after meeting an infected person at CPAC. But I find it hard to believe that anyone would meet Ted Cruz.

Thing to remember though? Hand sanitizer is antibacterial... Not antiviral. Keep those Clorox wipes handy. This is actually misinformation. Alcohol in hand sanitizer does kill COVID-19 by disrupting its viral sheathe in the same way it disrupts the cell membrane of bacteria. Alcohol doesn't destroy all viruses, but it does work on this virus.

So....WHO has finally declared a global pandemic, March Madness will be played to empty arenas (if at all), the NBA has suspended its season, and everyone's 401k looks like crap because OPEC and Russia decided to have a pissing contest during a global health crisis.
On the bright side, gas is down to $2 bucks a gallon and you can probably get any seat you want at the movie theater.
Edit... Tom Hanks and his wife have tested positive for covid-19. Not even Woody is safe.

Watching last night's Colbert, apparently his show, and others filmed in New York, will go on without studio audiences for the foreseeable future.

Here in Arkansas we had our first presumptive positive to 6 cases now 24 hours later. Four counties are cancelling schools.
And while doing some shopping, I passed by the TP aisle and it was picked CLEAN. Never saw anything like that. TP, Instant Noodles, Powdered Milk, pot pies are all gone among the sanitizer, masks and rubbing alcohol.

Yeah, I'm confused about the frantic run on TP. Are people confusing covid-19 with Montezuma's revenge?
So, all concerts, sports events, live theaters and conventions are on hold. I got an email from the local movie chain that they're only selling to 50% capacity so everyone has an empty seat between them. I'm wondering if many movie houses will eventually just shut down as well.

I'm wondering if many movie houses will eventually just shut down as well. I was wondering that about theaters as well. Especially with so many movies getting postponed. All local high school teams and colleges here have postponed sports and the colleges have moved to online only. The lack of sports broadcasts has caused a big drop in hours at my second job (I understand the reasoning though). But what worries me is if my main job goes to work at home. I don't have the equipment or connections at home to meet their minimum requirements.
