It looks like the thorax isn't enclosed at all on the bottom, which is a little disappointing considering the original toy managed that. On the other hand, he doesn't have obvious bot limbs in the ant legs, so win some lose some. I'm sure somebody will come up with a 3D printed panel you can jam on there.
Armada Starscream, might go for. I still have the original, but that toy is so compromised being literally built around the gimmicks. Also, Powerlinx repaints inevitable.

I am still waiting for some one to remake Pretenders. I would empty my shelves for some new pretenders
Yeah, about that... Legacy Voyager Metalhawk. Now to see if it's a Pretender or IDW...

This seems pretty clear that he's going to be a standard Transformer. No mention is made of the shell in either his modes or accessories.
Sadly, as much as some of us grandpas are amused and nostalgic for the concept, I don't see actual Pretenders coming back. The Prime Masters were probably about as close as you're going to get.

If I had any say in it... And I don't, thankfully.
I would treat the Pretender characters that were shared on both sides of the ocean (like Landmine/Lander, Bomb-Burst/Blood, Submarauder/Gimler) as Deluxe Classes and re-release the PotP suits as a Selects offer. And those that were just in the states (like Iguanus, Pincher and Bugly) as Core Class.
Exceptions of course for the really popular ones, like Metalhawk, Bludgeon and Thunderwing. Treat them as you need to.

Are you saying the inner robots would be the figures, and the shells would be in the Selects exclusive? I dunno if they've ever done that much new tooling for a Selects release.

When it comes to the Decepticon Pretenders, I really wouldn't mind if they do something like they did with core class Igauanus or by extension most recent iterations of Bludgeon where the Pretender form IS the main robot with a pretty cleverly engineered alt mode built in and nix the inner robot form all together. Granted I don't know how well this will translate into the more human styled Autobot pretenders. That Botcon exclusive Metalhawk from deluxe Thunderwing that used his pretender shell as the main robot mode, just didn't look right to me.

Are you saying the inner robots would be the figures, and the shells would be in the Selects exclusive? I dunno if they've ever done that much new tooling for a Selects release. My fault, I explained that poorly. Not making new shells for them but re-releasing the Pretender shells that they had for the Power of the Prime line. As far as those shared by both sides of the ocean... Landmine / Lander Cloudburst / Clouder Waverider / Diver Bomb-Burst / Blood Skullgrin / Darous Submarauder / Gimler Metalhawk All of those guys had PotP Shells made except for Waverider, and he had an alternate tooling made for Grand Maximus that never got used. So all that is ready to go. (If you want, you can even reissue some of the inner bots with the Masterforce cast members. Like Minerva to go with the upcoming Minerva toy, even if she's not a Headmaster.) Metalhawk as rumored as a Voyager. You can keep the others as Deluxes. Now... The Pretenders that's not on that list there: Groundbreaker, Splashdown, Sky High, Bugly, Finback, Doubleheader, Longtooth, Octopunch, and Pincher all have sorta animal themed shells that can be played up for being fun core class toys like Ignanus was. (And many of them can just have swappable heads to be just straight redecos. Finback and Bugly both turn into bullshit space planes. And no one is really going to give a shit if Groundbreaker turns into a motorcycle... Hell, I doubt 1 out of a hundred Transformers fans can tell you what he turns into without looking at the wiki.) Stranglehold was a shirtless wrestler dressed like Sean Connery from Zardoz whose inner robot turned into a rhino... There's SOOOOO much fun to have with him at a core class scale! I don't think anyone is really crying out for a Catilla or Chainclaw toy. Much less Gunrunner and Roadgrabber. (ANd I kept forgetting that Roadblock and Skyhammer was a thing. Can we just re-release the RiD15 toys of them and call it a day?) We already have a Starscream and Bumblebee at core class. We are a Jazz and Grimlock away from having the Classic Pretenders again. (New shell fronts for them in PotP would be neat and easy.) Fuck Vroom, just make him an Iguanus retool and call it a day. Thunderwing and his retool of Black Shadow/Sky Shadow needs to be at least a Voyager. (Preferable a Leader.) Crossblades and retool Blue Bacchus? You can do a Deluxe. No one will really care. Bludgeon? Voyager. And that just leaves the Pretender Monsters and Dinoking? At that point, I want the Landcross team to fight them and be in scale there, so let's see what they would be if that pipe dream ever happens.

Oh, I see. You mean the Prime Master shells would just represent them when they're shrunk down to (more or less) human size, then transform into guns as an accessory.
And not just Groundbreaker, most Pretenders I only really remember the shell. Whether it's Masterforce or the Marvel comics, the shell is the only thing that set them apart from each other.
