I love the classic Black Isle/Interplay Fallout games (1 and 2). Though in fairness, they haven't aged great, especially from an interface standpoint and I'd love to see modernizations of them. 3 was pretty good, a decent foray into 3D and fun, but the pre-DLC ending is offensively stupid. With that fixed, it's a pretty good game all around. New Vegas is terrific and is the only one of the "modern" games to really capture the depth of the BI era games, though it is kinda buggy. PC version with mods is the way to go. Fallout 4's gameplay is terrific (especially the redesigned Power Armor and much better companions - as a *game*, mechanically, it's the best of the 3d Fallouts for sure), and if it was titled anything else, I'd like it a lot more than I do, but it is a TERRIBLE Fallout, and I'm salty as fuck as a lifelong fan of both the series and a lifelong Masshole that this is the travesty I got when I finally got to experience The Commonwealth and Institute. I put about 120 hours into it, because I'm a cat with a laser pointer and I do all the sidequests in a region before I move on. The first 80 hours or so I loved, then I got to business and hit the main storyline and blergh. 76 is not a Fallout game. Full stop, end of my opinion on it (unless you want one of GS's rants about canon and continuity combined with the game itself missing the entire point of the series).

I 100% the achievements on Fallout 4.... which shows how damn easy the game is. Also, in hindsight, romance options should not be there, from the characters point of view, their spouse died like days ago.... who is in their right mind after that? And they didn't seem to upset about their baby being kidnapped.

I would play the modern Fallouts if they weren't in first person. First person makes me barfy. A buddy of mine works IT security at Zenimax / Bethesda, and I told him he needs to make them start doing third person so I can play their games.

I know 3 you can do 3rd person mode but it looks... bad. Really floaty, like an early 3d game. Dunno about the rest of them, I don't remember if I ever checked. But yeah, motion sickness being triggered by a game is no fun, sorry
