Wouldn't be the first continuity where the humans are not on the level, Yeah. And kind of obvious from even the first episode of the new batch. Hell, I suspected this just from seeing their logo. Who designed that for them, Charles Manson? The Decepticons continue to be great. We get to see Megatron dealing with PTSD and almost resentment for how he's made out to be a great hero by the humans when he may have doomed his whole race. Tarantulas was fuckin amazing. A sort of conscientious objector to the war, wanting to just blend in with humans and be left alone. I do hope they get into what the divide actually was between the Autobots and Decepticons to start with. It seems like some bots just got swept up and ended up on one side of the line or the other, and just fought to survive. Like it's not just mustache-twirling villainy, there was some goal to it even if that's been lost over time.

I find it very interesting that this show basically makes a lot of non-lethal but significant sacrifices a thing.
Tarantulas ends up giving up his cozy hideaway where he managed to stay under GHOST's radar in order to cover for Nightshade and the Maltos.
Megatron gave up his Cybertronian alt mode (which is presented as a far more personal part of a Cybertronian's identity here) in order to protect Dot and her unit during the war, despite knowing he couldn't scan the old alt mode again given the loss of the Space Bridge.
Bumblebee sacrifices his cover to prevent the GHOST agents from being smashed, and Breakdown sacrifices his freedom to make sure Bee can get away, despite this meaning Bee gave up his ability to be with the Maltos in order to save humans.
Also, this Megatron is just...crazy good. Like, the first half of the season had him getting on Prime for being too obedient to GHOST and sympathetic to Decepticon captives. The Allspark Memorial episode has him basically have a PTSD moment when the kids are playing their "LARP of the final battle", before he gently explains that 'not all scars are on the outside', and he clearly still has trauma about the war and his fears that he destroyed the Allspark rather than saving it, dooming Cybertron.
I'm especially curious given his line with Shockwave.
"The Autobots will kneel before us!" "We started this war so that none would kneel."
I'm really looking forward to what Grimlock is like when he's calm, but he definitely didn't get his rep undercut by how absolutely terrifying of a powerhouse he is in the finale.

Tarantulas being a sympathetic character was quite the surprise.

Starscream is not as big an asshole. They actually acknowledge that Megatron and Starscreams relationship (non-romantic) was incredibly toxic and abusive.
