I admit I wouldn't be disappointed if their funding failed, but it's more because I'm hoping that might convince Hasbro they're overreaching with this.
- Given the kind of things they've been able to do with the Titan class thus far (Metroplex, Fort Max, Trypticon), I can't imagine a smaller version of this wouldn't be doable as a retail release of some kind. - The weight is *19 pounds*. Putting aside the unlikelihood this ever got put through a drop test, that's capable of doing some serious damage to owners or pets if it were ever to fall on them. - Cost. The above weight makes me think a LOT of this Unicron is die-cast metal, which frankly if they could've done it with plastic and slashed a few hundred off the price, perhaps it would've been more palatable.
Essentially, the thing is too big, too heavy, too expensive, and too grandiose for me in pretty much every way, so I do admit I'd almost want to see it get made in hopes some 3rd party company would make a cheaper, smaller, plastic version that'd probably be more affordable. It's a cool thing to look at, but I think Hasbro's reaching a little bit too far for something requiring 4.6 million dollars when all's said and done.

Whether it makes goal or not, what I'm hoping for is Hasbro might consider doing a scaled down version for the everyday collector of average means. Maybe scale it down a few inches or so, lighten his burden , remove any extra non-essential die-cast, and I wouldn't even mind if we didn't get a completely round Unicron in planet mode. I'd be fine with a half a planet like the Armada version with a stand or perhaps extra panels that can be fit on the back to have that sphere shape but the back part being hollow (yet unseen). If they could do that and maybe lower the price to $199.99 to $249.99, then I think I could more realistically be able to swing that.

The one design element of the BW Neo Unicron that I love are those giant horns sticking off his shoulders, which were carried over to Armada & TFP Uni as well. Love that look! But I don’t dig having an entire hemisphere hanging off his back. There had to be something better they could do with that.

So, all sorts of pre-orders going up right after SDCC. As opposed to waiting for things to trickle out to stores, most of it's online. Gotta say, I like that over the older method of wondering when stuff would show up.
The exclusive spam, however, I could do without. Anyone got a Red Card with Target that I could bother you to order a Redwing for me with?

I know I pre-ordered a crap ton yesterday including Astrotrain, Apeface, Spinster, Crosshairs, Amazon Siege Skywarp and G2 Sideswipe sets, 35th Bluestreak. Also put in an order at Pulse for Lancer and Shackwave. Now just need Walgreens to put up a pre-order for that Autobot Medic...I keep forgetting his name... I was intrigued by Red Wing but I'm not about to jump through hoops trying to apply for a Red Cart Credit Card just to get a Transformer. Run my credit for a car, that's fine, but for a change to buy a $30 toy? No thanks. I think I'll just opt for the Rain Maker set. At least I don't have to fill out a questionaire or application to get him.

They downplay that because Target doesn't make any real money off of them (they work exactly like a bank check card, no interest or fees or anything, pulls right from a checking account after a couple days), you just need to bring in a check to a store to sign up for it.

Oh well that is a little better but I don't have a local Target to sign up at so I'll just pass until he shows at Ross or TJ Maxx . Damn you GS your seeker madness is flaring. I thought I kicked it with the Classics mold.

I got Astrotrain, Apeface and Refraktor from BBTS. Skywarp pack from Amazon. I don't have that Siege seeker mold yet, but I'll bite for Skywarp + extras. G2 Sideswipe is cool, but passing because I don't need another copy of the Skytread mold. Waiting to see those new Micromaster sets go up for order.
