I decided to watch the first episode of the much-maligned third season of Gargoyles (for...reasons), so went to "WatchAnimeOnline", which has become my go-to for refreshers or downloading episodes just for clips.
I noticed that the opener was not the electric-themed redo of the original theme, but the one they used for Season 2 (awesome music with Goliath's exposition). Weird, I thought...did I forget something? Did they use the newer theme with the awkward graphics at the end, and then use it as the opener in season 2? Nope, since the following episodes I checked also do without the redone version, but they do have it playing for the closing credits; those are still the same.
As I watch the episode, which involves that woman Margot arguing with MacBeth, the latter is referred to by the anchor as "Lennox McDuff". I distinctly remember in the original airing of the episode that there was a mistake, and he was called "Lennox MacBeth". And looking back, since that episode was written by Weisman, I'm wondering if that was a bad take they mistakenly used (I mean...it wouldn't be the only line where the take didn't sound great).
On the page, just above the player, is a link to a Blu-ray download (for those with an account, I guess). So...did they go back and make those changes for streaming or something? Because I don't think they gave Chronicles a home release.
Brooklyn still gets mis-colored with Angela's palette in "Runaways", though.

I didn't watch Goliath Chronicles much when it first aired but I recently watched the whole season on Disney+. I can't really say if anything was changed there. But that site must have pulled the episodes directly from D+ because they did dump the G.C. intro in favor of the season 2 opening yet kept the G.C. outro. I could never find a specific reason why Disney made this change.
But overall, I didn't outright hate the G.C. episodes but I can definitely tell they were a step down from the previous seasons.

Yeah, the animation and some of the dialogue felt off, even if some of the premises had potential. Pretty sure it was a case of the creator not being as involved, and getting a different, cheaper studio for most of the episodes (I remember the return of Proteus was better in some ways).
I'm wondering if they thought they could get more viewers if they didn't have the Chronicles intro. I mean, it'd confuse fans already familiar with the season (it sure confused me). But swapping intros is fairly easy, whereas the outro? They'd have to basically recreate the end credits, or play the previous theme over them, and either way, that's probably more money and effort than they prefer to spend.
As far as the MacBeth/McDuff thing, I can only think that they lucked out, found a take where it's said correctly, and put it in there, since the speaker is off-screen.

It's been a long while, but I believe the McDuff thing was a pseudonym MacBeth was using.

Yeah, when Hudson meets his blind war vet buddy, they establish that it was an alias based on characters from Shakespeare's play. Which means the villain-turned-ally knows the play...kinda wonder what his review would be...
But I remember watching the first episode of Goliath, and the anchor calls him "Lennox MacBeth". Even back then, it was strangely wrong to me, but I guess they decided to fix it for streaming (though it got fixed ten years after Chronicles in the SLG comic).
