So, doing some cleaning has resulted in finding parts of Uni's collection that we've essentially duplicated from before we got married. Several Energon things that are still sealed in boxes of toys I know I have in storage, so we're looking at selling some of it off just to make something of it, as well as to let someone take a shot at it. But I've never really sold anything on eBay before, so I'm curious what best practices folks suggest for doing so. I know what attracts me as a buyer, but the shipping out to the purchaser thing is new ground for me. Any advice?

Depending how much of this you have to do, it might be worth going to stamps.com. They'll give you a free postage scale to use. What I'm not sure of is if they have some kind of monthly fee to use the service, but if you get in and out during the 4-week trial it might not even matter.

There's a newer site I use called Transformerland that buys & sells collections; maybe give them a contact first & see if they offer anything reasonable- might save you some fees & shipping headaches. www.transformerland.com/sell-transformers.php

I know there are also promo codes for Stamps.com during some Nostalgia Critic videos. I've never used them though. When it comes to eBay shipping, I usually charge a flat rate and if I overestimate the cost, I refund the difference. But be warned that eBay also takes seller fees out of the shipping money in addition to the money for the actual item. Ebay claims it's to combat those grossly overcharging on shipping. Some try to add the fee to the cost of shipping but then buyers bitch that shipping is too high. Hell they bitch even if shipping is reasonable. I got dinged in feedback one time because shipping was too high. And it was FREE shipping for the buyer in that listing. Out of curiosity OM, is Energon Quickstrike among the Energon figures you and Uni thinking about selling?

Oh yeah, Transformerland. I've never bought/sold with them, but I love their wiki for the instruction sheet scans and part lists. May help when trying to determine if a figure is "complete".

Energon toys... Any of those Scorponok? Dunno if we've got doubles up on that one, but I'll keep an eye out as we go through stuff.
