So Uni and I got a new dog recently. Probably about a year old max, a mix of poodle and chihuahua. He's usually pretty quiet, but during the evenings, he finds the side of the house he knows we're not able to immediately see to either pee where he shouldn't, shred paper (and some pet beds) that he can get his mouth on, typical puppy things.
Except recently, apparently he nudged a shelf and a Transformer fell off, with Uni finding it only after he'd mangled one accessory into basically garbage and nibbled a bit on the arm. Given Cyberverse is basically out of stores at this point, getting a replacement for Soundwave is...unlikely to be cheap.
At this point, I'm just frustrated because if we're doing anything that takes our attention for a long period of time (and I define this as an hour) like watching something on Netflix, video gaming, etc. he tends to go on his destructive little habits. And while this time wasn't as bad as it could be, I'm not looking forward to finding out he's managed to knock off and gnaw on something else potentially more expensive (or literally irreplaceable). At the same time, kenneling him up in the evenings doesn't seem really great as a way to handle the situation, and I don't really have any sealed shelving at the moment as before now, it wasn't an issue (our other dog doesn't chew on things other than food or food flavored things like rawhides).

Can't really help with the puppy situation since I have zero experience with dogs. But for Cyberverse Soundwave, I know he was repacked with the recent Cheetor "window-less box" wave so he might still be floating around and some Wal-Marts and Targets are still stocking the deluxes so he might still be floating around somewhere. I can keep an eye out too if you need me to.

And, well, you can see the mauling he got here (the hand was actually popped out of the socket but was reattachable)

Our little shithead Birch is basically not to be trusted. He's a wonderful, loving and beautiful beagle... But he's a shithead. Our big saving grace is that he's really, REALLY stupid. But sometimes, he thinks things that aren't his... Are his. Came home one day and wondered what he was chewing on... Apparently, Sam Wilson's Cap shield is NOT dog teeth-proof.
If you can't find a new Cyberverse Soundwave, I can just give you mine. (Though I wanna keep Laserbirb.)

I didn't have much effect luck our dog most of the time (though I was in elementary school when we got her). Sure, there's basic stuff like keeping the dog on it's back to establish dominance, but for something this specific?
The best idea I can come up with is holding up one of the figures to the pooch, and at any sign of biting, smack his butt and sternly say "no". Not sure how effective that is, because Katie chewed on a few things she shouldn't have, like some old books my Mom had and the lid to a yard waste barrel, but I don't remember it being a long-term problem, and I imagine someone else set her straight.

Laserbeak was safely in Soundwave's chest when it happened so mine is still in good shape. lol

Can you put up a baby gate to keep him out of the room?

One of my cats chomped the end of MP Starscream's laser effect, among various other things she's damaged or destroyed. Good thing we love our pets or we'd have to kill 'em.

Well, back to the doggy thing. Let's look at real solutions.
We have a beagle. Beagles are pretty stupid but lovable. Single minded. They know what they want. (They're sometimes more like a cat than an dog.) You have a Poodle/Chihuahua mix... Chihuahua are dumb, but Poodles are really smart. So you got a crap shoot on what it's gonna be. Mako suggested a baby gate, but if they're determined enough, they'll get around that.
I would look over things that are irreplaceable (like toys) and kinda "doggy proof" the house. Put some toys up, move the rest back from the shelf edge in case they knock over a bit. Also, maybe put a dog toy in each room so he's automatically has something to play with? Like one of those Kong balls with treats in it. They can rattle it around and get a small kibble out of it.
They WILL eventually learn. It's not going to be a forever thing. But it'll take time.

Doing some checking around here, our roommates actually recommended a place for doing dog training. Their dog has service animal training and it's where they went, but the place offers less stringent training as well, so we'll be seeing about that. Amusingly, your offer of an extra Soundwave will probably work out with that, because one of the things they do is use something the dog's already chewed up as a training tool so that, eventually, they can put it right by their food dish and the dog won't chew it. Eventually. So having a spare would work out.
