Well...apparently, they're giving the death and return of Superman another animated go.
Not sure why...maybe they think enough time has passed since the first one (that kicked off the PG-13 animated movies), or they think it'll be better received if Supes doesn't have his trunks.

I dunno... Maybe because they think they blew it in Batman v. Superman and want to have another attempt at it, because people respect the cartoons more than the movies?
Hey, I stopped trying to figure out DC years ago.

It's a 2-parter. They're doing "Death of" in part 1 and "Reign of" in part 2 so presumably the whole story with Superboy, Steel, Eradicator and Cyborg Supes, and probably the Justice League and big funeral scene. The first animated film was heavily abridged and the animation models were a little wonky so I'm down for this.

Walter Hamada has been named as the new exec in charge of comic book films at WB. Geoff Johns has been given an "advisory role" (nice way of saying, thanks but we don't need you). Hamada was previously at New Line where he headed up horror franchises like The Conjuring and the It remake.

The Superman Doomsday animated film was one I was really excited for and it ended up being a major let down for me. The major abridging was disappointing but for a 90 minute or so movie, I expected some things would get cut out but what was left was pretty meh and the way they made all that was left fit together seemed like jamming the proverbial square peg into a round hole.

The Gifted got renewed for a second season... Which is rather nice, because I really enjoy it. It's not as good as Legion was, but it's pretty good.

Fox has done some shuffling of it's X-Men movie dates.
First, Gore Verbinski has pulled out of directing "Gambit", he being the third director to leave, so Gambit gets pushed back further into 2019. I don't think anyone really cares at this point.
Next, New Mutants moves from April of this year to February of NEXT year. Rumor has it that the film did not test well enough for Fox so the horror feel is being overhauled. That's fine, studio meddling and re-shoots never hurt any other movie, right?
Next, Deadpool 2 moves UP to from June 1st to May 18th. That puts it smack dab between Infinity War and Han Solo which is a bit inexplicable. Maybe Fox is counting on Disney's Star Wars troubles to get worse?
