I can get one of the cats to stand on her hind legs, but only if she's sufficiently convinced there's a treat in my hand. Usually by there actually being a treat in my hand.
I did try to put one of the kid size henshin belts on Shadow once. He was... less than enthusiastic.

So, for my birthday a couple of weeks ago I got a little spending money for Amazon and went on a sort of Driver binge. Not pictured is the OOO driver which is still in transit. And I really started something with the dogs and the Henshin thing. Now we have a routine where a couple of times each night I have to put on the Revice driver and go through the Henshen process which Flint will join in on. Then I’ll go through the Remix sequence where he stands up on his hind legs and gives me a fist-bump, and finally the Stamping Finish where the other beagle, Wyatt (who by this time has come running into the room to be the Deadmans) gets kicked by the two of us. Then there are Milkbones all around and everyone is happy.

Hold on... the dog just stands there and lets you kick him? He must really want that milkbone

Well it’s a play kick…and sometimes he makes a show of growling and trying to get away…but basically yeah. Those two beasts will do just about anything for a Milkbone. Wyatt hasn’t really grasped the concept of tricks, but he was smart enough to figure out that “STAMPING FINISH!” announcement plus getting kicked at equals treat.
However neither of them particularly care for me coming at them with an activated Vistamp…

So I got a question...
I heard in a recent Kamen Rider series, a favorite tokusatsu character of mine, Android Kikaider popped up. I saw some clips online... Which lead me to realize that it was a setup for a new Kikaider series.
Did anyone see this crossover, as well as the new series... And is it worth my time to hunt down? Especially with the whole reason this thread exists?

It was a movie: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kikaider_RebootI remember the crossover, but I don't recall that I ever saw the movie itself. As far as a series, the only remake I know of was Metalder, which was used for some of the footage in VR Troopers.

So Donbrothers is fucking insane. I kinda like it.
The only thing that drags it down is pink and black being CG characters. If it was like, here and there they transform into the weird forms, then fine. But it's all the time when they're henshined, and Toei's CGI has never been... good. At all. There is zero sense that those characters are actually there. They are never overlapped by a live actor, because that would require masking around said actor, and tracking shit in 3D space. Nah. They're pasted on top, and that's it.
Anyway, that's a small part of each episode, and the rest of the time it's fun as hell.

I’m still probably not going to watch a Sentai show…but I was thoroughly entertained by the three little shorts they did with with the Red Sentai guy and Den-O. If the show is that kind of insane then it must really be something. Still…I may watch one of the movies once they’re out and available. And watching that clip…man, I do love spotting repeatedly used filming locations. I’ve only watched a small portion of existing Tokusatsu, but I’ve seen many a rumble in that place that looks like the parking lot of an abandoned, multi-colored outlet mall

Some of them are standing sets too. Toei has the famous old city set where a lot of samurai movies and period dramas are filmed (and where you can dress up in period costume and walk around). They also have what I call the "ruined city" set, which is a lot of crumbled buildings and concrete debris. That guy tends to show up toward the end of shows.
