It’s finally over. We have a new president and I can breath a sigh of relief at last. Biden may not get it all right- no one ever does- but I at least feel confident that he’s going to try his hardest to do right by the country. His first salvo of executive orders is already a good start.

Someone else said it best: "It's going to be refreshing to be mad at a president for not being good enough, as opposed to being mad at one for purposely being evil."

I was about to say I don't believe it but I can. It's no surprise. No matter what happens, Trump always seem to come out smelling like ****ing roses no matter how much sh*t he stirs up. I'm just scared what kind of precedence this will set that a president can do anything and everything he wants and to hell with the consequences...

I'm really f*cking tired of things not getting better.
The best we can hope for at this point is that his financial and legal problems keep him thoroughly tied up, and his crappy diet and poor health do him in before he can attempt another run (that, or the 14th Amendment).

The problem isn't 4 more years of Trump, it's the fact that not doing anything about him has now legitimized what he did.
Next guy won't be so stupid and clueless - someone who's actually competent would have been able to accomplish his wet dream of a Facist President for Life state.
Every single one of those seditious bastards that opted not to convict him should be hung for treason.

To quote Dewey from Malcom in the Middle:

The Republicans are cowards because they secretly admit he's to blame, but wouldn't vote to convict.
The Democrats are cowards because they were afraid to push as hard as they could have. Like, they really could have pushed the "Hang Mike Pence" thing. Establish that the crowd was after Pence with video. Call witness(es) to attest that Trump was called by Kevin McCarthy and told how their lives were in danger. Use phone records (cellular or those of the capitol building) to corroborate. Reference Trump's tweet where he attacks Pence again 13 minutes after that call. Then put Pence himself on the stand and force him to either publicly rebuke Trump or admit he's OK with people coming to murder him.
Democrats had actually voted to call witnesses... but then wimped out. It's un-fucking-believable. How do you fail to take down a guy as obviously criminal and breathtakingly stupid as Trump... and fail twice? Well, when you're paid to lose...

Someone explained to me that this was "going through the motions", basically giving the Republicans a chance to do the right thing, before doing what they wanted to do all along. And in a way... It doesn't matter, because no matter the evidence, they were gonna say not guilty. What happens next will be the real test...
But yeah, don't fucking hold your breath for ACTUAL justice here or anything.
