For the first time since Trump began running back in 2015, I feel actual excitement watching the news. I’m looking forward to day 1 of the Biden presidency and know that his team is going to hit the ground running. They (and we) have a lot of work to do. I am as well. He has made it known he is not going to be brushing off the Coronavirus like Trump. On Monday, he said he is going to be naming his Covid Task Force which will be made up of actual scientists and experts. Experts that hopefully Biden will listen to instead of contradicting at every turn and making things worse like a certain someone did. www.newsweek.com/who-joe-biden-coronavirus-task-force-1545835(Goes without saying but I missed this about The Den. We can have civilized adult themed discussions such as politics without anyone taking offense or getting upset).

Dunno about that. All the upcoming lawsuits that's awaiting him, and you know they're gonna pursue legal action for the various criminal activities he did while in office, now that he's no longer protected by the job. And then there's the international issues. Those people on the border camps... They're not American citizens. They're people seeking asylum that we imprisoned. That's way against the Geneva Convention. And once word gets OFFICIALLY out about the torture that we've ALL knows that's happening... That becomes a human rights issue. That's "go in front of the Hague" level of stuff. Wife and I have a wager on if he commits suicide before the end of his term.

See it depends. I wouldn't put it past him to just f*** sh** up these last two months since he's probably very butt hurt that we don't like him any more, BUT... he's eligible to run again in 2024. A president is limited to two terms but they don't have to be consecutive. His sycophants might convince him to be a good boy on the way out so they can lay the groundwork for the next campaign. I don't see anyone on the Republican side who can stand up to another Trump steamroller if he decides to go again. That is true. I can see him running again in 2024. Especially if he feels like Biden's 4 year term is a total crap fest (which I hope it isn't) and he thinks Biden's supporters might be disillusioned enough flip back to him in 2024. But will his overinflated ego allow him to see the see the logic in that or even listen to those that are trying to persuade him to see the bigger picture. I don't imagine he has been told no or lost anything in his life and I don't know on whether his mentality can take it. I can see him literally throwing a temper tantrum in the club house where he was playing golf when he found out he lost (which seems fitting since he was there more than being in the office during times his "leadership" was needed the most). But that will be for naught though if once sworn in President Biden turns the full force of the justice department on him and they decide to open a full scale investigation into Mr. Trump's activities and the guy actually ends up going to jail. Unless he resigns before his term's up so temp President Pence can pardon him fully which I have seen mentioned more than once in political posts and discussions. I don't see Trump relinquishing power, even to Pence. Even if he's not so deluded as to think he can scream his way to a second term, he probably sees it as a sign of weakness. And as to Mach's bet with his wife, I have a hard time believing Trump would off himself. He's as vain and egocentric as he is greedy and stupid. How could you say something like that?! I've been personally assaulted! I was LITERALLY stabbed in the pancreas by that comment! Hashtag-Canceliacon45!

I honestly don't think he'll be prosecuted for anything, at least not by any direct action of the Biden administration. That will just divide the country even further and ensure that the 'Pubs don't work with him on anything for the next 4 years.

Notably, Trump's been looking at pardoning himself on the way out for a while.
Though federal crimes can have that happened, any state prosecutions aren't able to be pardoned by the President, so I hope he hasn't pissed off any particularly vindictive state governments by denying them aid in a pandemic or anything like that...
And that's before all the foreign investors start calling in their loans. My greatest hope is that he's not a factor by 2024 because he's been ripped apart by the consequences of his own actions by then.

Same.
And while Biden has said he won’t go after him personally, he has also said that he won’t interfere in any legal issues that might crop up for Trump. He’s not going to swoop in and pardon him or anything.

Biden's not doing squat criminally. He's been all about "unity" and healing division.
That said, McConnell isn't letting a single Democratic bill hit the senate floor either way. The's the obstructor in chief. Those Georgia seats are critical.
And beyond even that, Biden seems more concerned about making deals with Republicans than passing any of his own party's priorities, so we need to start leaning into him now if you want to see anything happen even with a Democratic senate.

and because of that "deal-making" Democrats will get wiped out in the 2022 midterms and whatever mildly charismatic Republicans' the top dog will get to the White House in a cakewalk.
we'll be doing this same dance the rest of our lives because this country is FUCKING STUPID.

Not saying you're wrong. Buuuut, let's see what happens first. I got a good feeling about those Georgia seats. And I still got $20 on Covid Commander offing himself.

And I still got $20 on Covid Commander offing himself. I'm sorry, I just came *this* close to snorting my drink because now I'm just picturing him wriggling out of the White House going "I WAS ONCE A MAN! A MAAAAAAAN!"
