This.. looks an awful lot like the way I've always imagined Dune to look. I'm close to actually believing I might finally get a screen adaptation of my favorite book of all time that does it justice.

Yeah, looks pretty good. That’s probably the scariest looking sandworm I’ve ever seen.

No Patrick Stewart, hard pass.
I kind of hate that they spoil the reveal of the worm in the trailer though.

I admit I was kind of low key wishing they'd bring Stewart back as Thufir Hawat (agewise this makes more sense nowadays - in the novel at least, Hawat is a pretty old man by the time of the move to Arrakis), but he was one of the few bright spots of that Lynchian disaster.
But that said, imo I kinda needed to see the worms. Getting Shai Halud right is a huge factor in doing Dune justice, though I agree at the same time it kinda sucks to be spoiled.

I admit, the design missed me a tiny bit, in that I really liked the tri-part jaw that the previous adaptations tended to use, but the rest of this looks really interesting, so I'll be interested to see where this goes.

The tri-jaws were cool and actually losely inspired by one of the earlier edition cover arts, but that design has been kind of "ruined" (or at least made less scary/iconic) by the use of it in Tremors and Beatlejuice, imo. But the endless maw with rows and rows of teeth design the new movie used is how the worms are actually *described* in the book, and given that the Phantasy Star games stole said description wholesale for Motavia's own sandworms, I've always been particularly fond of that look. I'm also greatly intrigued by the fact a lot of the machinery looks an awful lot like it's inspired by the classic Dune strategy games.

I like what I see. But I will miss the older movie's soundtrack. That was one thing they got down right.
I know Toto probably can't do it... Maybe Weezer could?
