So today, after 11 years, the sage of the Clone Wars came to a conclusion.
I feel like we started off talking heavily about this show and I would have necromanced the thread if we were still on the old forum. So yeah... Let's talk about it. This final season, and it's three major stories.
The first, was the Bad Batch story. The Bad Batch unit was pretty cool and honestly, I would have loved to see them a lot earlier on. The story was... Okay. But I did enjoy it. And I always do enjoy watching Anakin slip farther and farther into the Dark Side.
The second arc was the Level 1313 storyarc with the two new characters of Trace and Rafa. I can see some people finding them annoying, but I kinda liked them and I could easily see them growing on people like Ahsoka did. I think the arc ran about an episode too long, but again, I did enjoy it.
The third arc is where I pretty much go "Holy shit!" So, not only did we get to Episode III timeline, but we had the events of Episode III trhough Ahsoka and Rex's point of view. And during this, we even had the Siege of Mandalore (which easily set of the events we later saw in Rebels and to an extent, the Mandalorian.), a thrilling battle with Darth Maul, an amazing escape from Order 66... And a gutpunch ending that made the "Ahsoka leaves the Jedi" ending of the previous season seem happy in retrospect.
Granted, we all know where the major players end up. Ahsoka and Rex is in Rebels and survived well past the battle of Endor, Maul got his short and sweet confrontation with Kenobi... What I didn't expect was the whole "seeing the last bit of Anakin Skywalker die" epilogue.
Now, it's safe to say that Clone Wars salvaged the Prequel Trilogy for a lot of people, and Rebels was as good (if not better) than the Original Trilogy. So what I'm wondering...
Since Star Wars: Resistance was not a Dave Filoni production, and after this and the Mandalorian, Dave Filoni is probably next in line to run Lucasfilms... Could this crew do a show during the Resistance era and salvage THAT train wreck?
