Okay, I know a few of us has stopped watching the CW shows and some of us hasn't. But this is still a big deal and I thought i'd make a thread for it. Now I have not kept up on the CW shows in almost two years, but fortunately it's self contained enough you don't need too. So basically here's the gist that most of you already know.
The Anti-Monitor is sending an anti-matter wave throughout the universe and it's wiping everything out at once. We open with multiple Earths getting destroyed and we then go to Supergirl's Earth-38 where Harbinger brings various heroes from across the Multiverse there to coordinate a plan of attack, while they try to evacuate the planet. A lotta shit goes down. By the end of the episode, here's the status of the CW Universe...
Earth-88 (the Tim Burton Batman universe, complete with Alexander Knox cameo played by Robert Wuhl): Gone Earth-9 (the "Fuck Batman" universe from the DC streaming universe: Gone Earth-66 (the Adam West Batman universe with Burt Ward exclaiming "Holy Crimson Skies of Death!"): Gone Earth-38 (Supergirl's Earth): Gone, with two-thirds of it's population. Argo City: Gone, along with Supergirl's mother, who I didn't know was alive again Earth-X: Gone, along with the Freedom Force Oliver Queen: Dead, apparently dying too early than the monitor suspected, meaning all this is out of control now.
Items of note:
Mia has taken up the role of Green Arrow. Clark, Lois and Jonathon made it off Argo City. They're fine. We do not know the fate of the Supergirl cast yet, like Lena Luthor, Alex or Brainiac-5.
And this was episode ONE.
More tomorrow.

If the Titans universe is gone, that's gonna make Season 3 REAL weird. Not I've kept up with that show.
I was actually planning on vlogging each chapter after they aired, like I did with Elseworlds, but my editing software decided to be a pain in the ass, so I'll probably put a pin on that, if I do it at all.

Earth-38 Lex Luthor is well established as a horrible piece of shit with no decency or redeeming features whatsoever. Watching Smallville Clark, now retired from heroics and having found a way to remove his powers, take him down without even trying, was a thing of freaking beauty. Also, given I find it hard to believe that any Clark would retire while Lex was still a super-villain in a position of power and authority, it's possible that Smallvilles version of Lex, mentioned as being president, finally managed to find that better path.
Also, Kevin Conroy as a broken, murderous Batman is creepy as hell.

The line that had me cheering?
"Not the first time I lost control and had to fight myself."
It's a goddamned crime we never saw more Superman material with Routh!

On top of that, I adore the fact that even though he lost Lois and so many friends to the Kingdom Come attack, this Clark didn't abandon humanity or his life. He continued to be the best of us.

Dammit Barry. The one thing your character is still respected for, and you can't even do that right!

Episode 3 was all over the place but the Earth-666 cameo and Earth-90 Flash were fantastic.
I'm shocked at how closely they're following the source material so far, although in the comic they managed to save 5 Earths that merged into one so that's changed. The part about Ollie was surprising as that's a callback to Hal Jordan from the Final Night. Anyone else remember Jim Corrigan appearing in the Constantine TV series? Probably the most obscure reference so far.
So obviously most of the dead characters are coming back somehow so I'm curious as to how many Earths there will be at the end. Will they cram everybody onto one or re-establish the multiverse?
This weeks Black Lightning was a Crisis tie-in, worth a watch if you missed it.
Mark Guggenheim said there were more cameos coming in the final two parts. I'd like to see someone from Gotham show up.

Part 3 was probably the best so far.
Could've used more Black Lightning, though.

The destruction of Earth-73... Unless it's the universe where Black Lightning hails from, if you go by the rules of the year they debuted being the Earth number... I believe that's the universe of the Superfriends cartoon. Poor Wendy and Marvin. That said, I've heard rumors... And bear in mind, I consider these totally unfounded... That a big part of the final episode takes place in the Timm Universe. Again, rumor. I'll believe it when I see it. But it wouldn't surprise me if they pulled in an animated chapter.
That bit at the end where Lex Luthor saved himself with a sharpie marker, rewriting the Book of Destiny is one of the most Lex Luthory thing a Lex Luthor has ever done. I was impressed!

Initially, the idea of the CW doing Timm-verse (which would cover even more fan service bases) leads me to think they'll go Flash animation, largely for budgetary reasons. So it'd more or less have the designs of our childhood, but be a little on the rigid side in terms of movement. Like when Kaldur, Superboy and Miss Martian guest starred on Teen Titans GO!.
However, they've had plenty of time since Elseworlds, and given the ratings success they had with previous crossovers, they may've been willing to spend the extra cash on traditional cel. But I feel like something would've leaked by now. I don't recall hearing anything about Lucifer's cameo before (but I avoid spoilers and don't travel in CW circles), but one dude's three minute appearance (if that) would be easier to keep under wraps than an animated project.
