DC has officially killed Vertigo. It's been floundering for the past few years but now it's officially dead. DC is re-branding itself with three different tiers of comics...DC Kids for ages 8-12, DC Universe for ages 13+ (i.e. the usual stuff) and DC Black Label for 17+.
So long, Vertigo, it was fun while it lasted.
Still never got that Fables TV show, though.

Kind of a shame. Vertigo comics were a staple of my comic art (and writing) development. I'm not sure where I'd be without the influences of the likes of Chris Bachalo run on Death: High Cost of Living, Matt Wagner's Sandman Mystery Theatre, the Black Orchid miniseries and series, or even Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's run on Hellblazer. Granted lately, it's not been anywhere the heights of quality it had during the Sandman or even the Preacher & Fables days... But I'll always have fond memories of it and hope someday it'll return to a proper venue again.
