10% off just about everything starting today, but only 5% off bricks. I guess they figure brick collectors are used to paying through the nose amyway, no harm, no foul. Guess I should have checked here before leaving work Poked around a bit online to try and see what the discounts were sitting at, then sat in traffic for an hour to get to my TRU. That was when I was slapped in the face with the 5% discount on bricks. To echo the theme here...I left with nothing. The one set I wanted to snag (Mega Construx Viking Longship) has already popped up on Amazon for 20% off at one point so there was no way in hell I was going in on it for a measly $4 off. Sad thing is, it's probably not even worth going back. The place was as busy as I've ever seen it, and it was already picked-over pretty good. 10% off! that just barely exceeds the TRU Tax in most cases. Of course, there were no Power of the Primes figures either...just like the previous two months. Stopped at the Wal-Mart next door and found nothing but bare Transformers pegs. That about sums up the past seven weeks of my toy hunting in a nutshell.

Yeah, I gotta echo the sentiment here too. Went to TRU. Found nothing. Went to the Target next door and it's not that they didn't have anything... But that because I already had all the PotP toys. (And even then, they were cheaper than the discounted TRU toys.)

www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/71615Looks like a few "Previously Toys R Us exclusive" items are being made available to other retailers like the above ML Vision/Scarlet Witch set. I'm hoping the same is going to happen with Studio Series Thundercracker. Chances are I will not be near enough to another TRU before their planned May closing and I am not about to pay the markup on eBay.

I was afraid that collectors wold be stuck in limbo as far as exclusives go.

So, greedy people being greedy.
Are the SURE the real culprits aren't gremlins...?

We went there today intending to pick up some board games. It had already been picked over pretty good & the discount wasn’t enticing enough. We did leave with a cute Rescue Bots memory game though.

Seems like the people who are taking this hardest are doing so because of a hit to their nostalgia. Regular TRU shoppers are, in large part, mildly inconvenienced.
