I looked up Virtua Fighter 2 on Genesis. That looks horrible. Eternal champions is a bit better but between it, Virtua Fighter, and Street Fighter II, I think it has too many one on one fighting games. But it still sounds like a solid enough list to warrant buying one

Yeah, I agree, most of those fighters haven't aged well at all. Even the venerable SFII is dated after newer games in that series. But was a huge part of 90s gaming so I get it, a bit. Would much prefer something else, like the JP Megadrive is getting one of my favorites in Assault Suits Leynos (Target Earth in the US) and MUSHA, which are both FAR better games, but honestly Darius is worth the cost of admission alone (as I've learned more this evening). kotaku.com/the-genesis-mini-will-include-a-fan-made-game-1835243583

The gameplay was allright but the music did not translate well to the Genesis at all. That Darius game looks intriguing so that might be the first game I try on this. I was not familiar with the arcade back in the day. If I had to pick one more game to add to this, I'd really would've like to see Robocop vs Terminator. The Genesis version was the better release IMO.

Oh man, Robocop Vs Terminator was WAY better than it had any right to be. By all measures a doubley licensed game that's a generic run and gun sidescroller should be complete trash, and instead it was a really solid game. Darius as a series is very much in the classic R-type/Gradius mold, excpect you fight robot space fish to riduclously kickin' chiptunes. It's glorious and I'm still very salty the more recent games haven't seen US releases, or when they do it's years later

The comic it was based on was also surprisingly good. I think it may have been the last good thing Frank Miller ever wrote.

I remember hearing that was a good book too, but I could never find it back in the day and totally forgot about it until just now. Ah well, can't be worse than what either franchise has endure since, at the very least.

When NECA released that Robocop vs. Terminator Robocop figure in his Terminator rebuilt body it made me want to go back and try to check that out finally.

Various places had the Sega Mini on sale for $49.99 and Wal-Mart.com had it for $45.00 which the store price matched for me.

Yeah, if i had know it'd take that price hit I'd have waited too, but I don't regret grabbing one at full price. I may pick up a second to mod now.

I can't remember if we talked about this but besides Street Fighter II, are there any games that benefit from the 6 button controller? If not, I might not worry about it. I can always play SF II on the SNES classic with that 6 button one instead.
