Just finished it up.
It definitely would not have hurt to have a bit more humor, but I can understand that they're setting up a mood of war and struggle. Right off the bat, with Bumblebee being a cynical scavenger looking out for himself, it tells you that this is a very different series. Not gonna lie though, if there was a way to translate Magnus' IDW version (not necessarily the little bot inside the big bot, I could take or leave), that would've been good. Or a version of Whirl that was less of a sociopath, and more of a crazy snarker with a weird punchline to lighten the mood. Maybe a less risque Deadpool without the fourth wall breaks. Or one of the Animaniacs. That certainly would've made Cyberverse more enjoyable.
I dug the designs, the way Megatron descended even further into villainy, from just outright lying to going all genocide, and thought the cast did a good job (though, yeah, Jetfire's voice seemed off, but maybe that's because I'm used to him being an Autobot). I think there were some 'bots we didn't see the alt-modes of (possibly a budget thing)...not a big deal, just something I noticed.
Didn't care for a death or two...Moonracer because she barely appeared before being killed off, and Magnus because I, too, would've liked to have seen more fighting from him. Oh, and...did the protocols just not want to give HIM the info they gave 'Bee later? And if it's supposed to be the wisdom of ages and all that, did they take a smoke break when he decided to parlay with Megs?
Overall, I enjoyed it, though it's not without room to improve.

Ok, finished watching it last night. On the whole most of my problems with it were "seems like it was done on a low budget" so I can overlook them, like the animation being occasionally clunky or the very low number of character models. Seeing Barricade as a G1 Prowl repaint is kinda neat though. The voices were very hit or miss, clearly trying to imitate the originals in most cases with varying levels of success. But what bothered me more than the voice quality was the *timing*, for lack of a better word. There's a few places there's some really awkward pauses, which I noticed mostly with Optimus, giving him an almost genuine AI (as in IRL voice assistant style AI) quality, especially with him calling people by name. "Thank you....... RATCHET" sounds like something i'd hear confirming a doctor's appointment. Like OM, my favorite parts were the spins I wasn't expecting - I got a real smile out of Soundblaster's origins (and the way he scratched out parts of the Deception sigil to mimic his own mug better was a nice throwback to the long held assumption that said logo was supposed to be Soundy's face initially anyways). I also liked the fact that death was a thing that happened, but wasn't so over the top as to be movie style mass casualties. And yeah, the Ark made me chuckle too. But on the whole, the best thing I can say about it is I enjoyed it enough that I'm looking forward to the other parts.

It did nothing for me. Boring action, humorless and relentlessly depressing storyline and flat voice acting. It brought nothing new to the mythology. The Netflix Godzilla series was awful, I couldn't get through the first few episodes of Ultraman, and now this. Three strikes and you're out, Netflix Anime.

So I watched it. Just once so far, but I’ll probably give it a 2nd watch since people seem to be enjoying it more on the second go.
Overall it was just average. Not especially bad, but not great or memorable. It falls into that category that’s worse than being awful- it was just kind of there.
Everyone talks so slow & often take pauses between words or sometimes even in the middle of words. This was a persistent problem through the entire show, where the voice director apparently though everyone should speak in the same manner; as slowly as possible.
There are few standout moments and even fewer visually memorable moments. Fights are often boring, several scenes are taken up with more walking in halls than an episode of The West Wing, and despite all the talking, there weren’t many stand-out lines.
I like that they were trying to dive a little deeper into why these factions are fighting and all that, but even then I feel like I still came away with very little.
I kept watching cuz it’s Transformers and it’s kinda hard to screw up a basic premise as strong as this one. And like I said, it wasn’t horrible. But it’s not very good either. If Siege were a color, it’d be beige.
