I’m in the northwest & we have the “polar vortex” about to dump a few inches of snow on us.

Had our Polar Vortex last week. On the coldest day, I turned over the car engines three times, just to be safe.
Today, I went for my (not quite as) daily (these days) walks, despite it being 4 degrees. I cut it my walk short, and just as well, since my face was freezing something fierce. Maybe I should buy a balaclava.

So far I am not impressed by this polar vortex in the northwest. It’s cold. We got a little snow. But that was it & it all melted away in the same afternoon. I was promised SnowMageddon!!

I'd like a little snow down south. When it's been cold enough there's no moisture and we have moisture, it's not cold enough. We haven't had a good snow here for 4 years.

I for one am taking one positive away from being temporarily unemployed: I didn't have to get my ass up in the mornings and go out in this polar vortex cold.

During the vortex, we only hit about -3 in Pittsburgh here. (Nothing like the mid west got.) I had to work at the library, and because I live only three blocks away... I walked to work. It was surprisingly busy. After the vortex, it was surprisingly slow... Only dealing with the usual crazies, mobsters and MAGA-hats. (Triple redundancy, I know.)
Right now, it's about 36ºF and a bit drizzly.

We've not been above freezing for the last couple weeks up here in Washington state, and it dropped to single digits but didn't quite hit the negatives. However, we probably had about a foot of snow dumped on us, a couple days of clear, and another foot dumped after that, with even more forecasted for the rest of the week.
Makes me glad we're heading out for our Disneyworld vacation over in Florida soon. The farmers may appreciate the build up of the snowpack in the mountains for irrigation, but it's lousy to deal with when you're in the middle of it.
EDIT: Also, my backyard right now. Please note the above mentioned foot hasn't hit yet.

Weather can not decide on sun or rain.
