He died at 95 years old.
I mean, it shouldn't be surprising, but still.
If they wanted to keep the tradition going, they could hide photos of Stan in future Marvel movies.

He died at 95 years old. I mean, it shouldn't be surprising, but still. I'm the same way Spork. I knew his health had been bad and it probably wasn't a surprise that the end was getting close. God I hate saying that but even knowing its coming doesn't make it any less hard when it happens. This guy was one of my heroes for sure and most of my favorite characters he helped create. This one definitely hurts. RIP Stan. In honor of Stan...EXCELSIOR!!!

Gutted. Lee's gotta be directly or indirectly responsible for like, at least 30% of my childhood (and with the MCU a big part of my adulthood too!). Excelsior, Stan.

Been seeing a lot of great tributes for Stan going around today. The outpouring of grieving & thanks for touching our lives speaks to the kind of man he was. I like to think we knew him a little through his stories- like a window into his thoughts & beliefs.
That said, he was one of the great storytellers of our time & I’m glad we live in a world that has benefitted from his imagination.

Among the tributes, I see people taking little swipes at Stan for building his empire on the backs of the little guys. Couple mentions of Jack Kirby (I thought those two had resolved their beef with each other?). Saw one such swipe in one of the links in that huffpost article.
It just feels uncalled for at this time, for one thing. But also, despite everything else he did, Stan was still a businessman. I don’t think it’s possible to stay in business, any business, as chairman & publisher, as long as he did without angering some people & making some enemies.
The fact that he left so many more people behind that genuinely look up to & respect him says more, I think.
