Yeah. I saw that professor that’s predicted a ton of election outcomes accurately saying that depending on how the GOP conducts this trial, it could be a reckoning like they’ve never seen in November. I can only hope.

One of the main reasons for the impeachment is to get senators on record voting to defend Trump. Anybody who does so can expect to get attacked on that basis come November, which could be devastating for any Republican whose seat is remotely vulnerable.
That said, they're gonna acquit his ass anyway. The corruption in our government knows no bounds, whether you're talking about the GOP or the conservative "mainstream" of the Democrats. The real test isn't if we can get Democrats in those seats, but whether we can get uncorrupted Democrats that don't take big money.

I'm not holding my breath to get rid of the corrupted Democrats either... But at this point, I'd just like an administration that doesn't take masturbatory glee in imprisoning babies.
(Say whatever you will about Bush and it's totally fair to... But at least he felt guilt over his actions.)

Yeah. I was reading that despite the overwhelming evidence & the tight presentation, senate republicans weren’t interested or moved by any of it. They blocked new witnesses & new evidence & then complained that they didn’t hear anything new.
So I don’t expect them to do the right thing. Not the needed 20. Not the possible 4. I don’t expect a single republican to break ranks.
So I’m going to find out who’s challenging Moscow Mitch, Lindsay Graham, Rand Paul & others & donate to their campaigns. Any little bit I can do to help purge the GOP cancer from our government.
There’s a big enough push right now to get big money out of government right now, that if we can get some of these obstacles out of the way & get some good people in there, we could see some real change in the next 4 years.
I gotta believe it’s possible. And I’m gonna try.

Last I heard, McConnell was fairly underwater with his approval rating in Kentucky. Wouldn't take much to topple him. Another Republican could probably even primary him.

Bernie just dropped out of the race, so now it's Crazy Uncle Joe vs the Great Pumpkin. I don't like Joe's chances, especially since Trump's approval rating has inexplicably gone UP during the pandemic. Now the Dems are going to have to figure out what to do with all the postponed primaries since they just got a ton of criticism about letting Wisconsin hold theirs yesterday. Then there's the national convention which is a lot of pomp and circumstance to come to a foregone conclusion.
It would certainly be interesting to see Biden and Trump debate in an empty forum during social distancing without an audience to feed off.
