Episode 2: We start this episode with a late night run to the morgue. The Decepticons are reanimating human corpses & sending them around town to whip up some panic. Transformers gone dark. It’s funny to see them go to all this trouble to distract the Autobots, but it doesn’t amount to anything, because when they finally teleport to a remote island, there’s already a Bot there just patrolling earth’s oceans. Lol ok. They try to pump up the threat level of the cons, but then undercut themselves, when they’re so easily beaten. Omg when Dauros jumped away, it totally looked like he landed on a mine & blew himself up!! Shuta wants to go with to see some Cons, & Hawk is like, “It’s too dangerous!” Shuta pesters him for 2 more seconds & Hawk is then like, “sure ok.” Terrible babysitter. Some stuff with the KhengisKahn Kid & his grandpa. DemonCons now trying to possess living humans & use them for their army. Doesn’t work.
And Shuta’s dad gets killed. Damn. Between all the morgue-robbing, reanimating of the dead, demonic incantations, zombies & now Shuta’s dad getting killed, this series went dark in a hurry.
On a final note: I don’t much care for the long-winded transformation sequence. First Hawk looks human. “SUIT ON!!” Now he looks like a human in chunky armor (love that he keeps the glasses though lol). Then he’s all like “PRETENDER!!!” and magically grows to the size of a real normal Autobot. And then finally transforms into a jet & flies off. And that’s all within the space of a minute. Just feels like a good way to confuse your audience.
Looks like Minerva’s in the next ep & from what I can tell, she’s the oldest of the bunch. That should round out the whole human cast I think.

Like most anime, the stock transformations get used less as it goes on. And you just see less of the Pretenders in general as the focus shifts to the Godmasters. There will be plenty of humans clicking bracelets together and yelling "MASTER FORCE!" though.
Come to think of it, I wonder if they ever made role play toys of those bracelets?

That’d be something to find out. Role play merch is a big thing.

They totally did.
...I kinda want some... Ah, those look familiar. I think I have seen those before.
Unfortunately, the only ones in this house who could actually wear them are the cats. I doubt they come in adult size, especially adult American size. See also: Kamen Rider belts and Sentai henshin braces.

Thanks to this thread, I've had the Masterforce theme in my head all week. Also, the whole story about watching an episode, getting annoyed at the chatty narrator and confused by all the rapid plot and character introductions before realizing that you were watching a clip show gets funnier the more I think about it
