I love how Shockwave's core mode is the same size as the rest of the major characters. Brunt is surprisingly badass. Flywheels is perfection. And Megatron just sold me Optimus Prime...they look awesome standing there next to each other. The weathered and beaten paint jobs really work for me, and the Voyagers look to be great toys unlike the PotP Voyagers which all suffered from having to be combiner leaders. I thought I was going to stop again after PotP ended, but these Decepticons are too good to pass up

Well, I don't wanna be one of THOSE guys. But nothing here's really grabbing me. Like... At all.
Sure, Flywheels and the Micromasters are sure fire purchases, but the rest? I have really good versions of everyone of these characters. And RECENT good versions at that. The hyper detail on them makes them look like they're infected with leprosy. And the fact they all have Cybertronian alt modes is a HUGE turn off for me. I have NEVER liked Cybertronian alt modes. I only begrudgingly accept a few as it is. (Blurr, Kup, Technobots, etc)
But I think the biggest disappointment? I kinda like the look of the Cyberverse evergreen designs and I was hoping that these would be like the "Star Wars Black" versions to the 3¾ sized figures. But they just seem to MORE G1 fanwanking... After three lines of intense fanwanking.
If you all are digging this, that's totally cool. But... I think I'm gonna pull an Armada/Energon and bail for a bit until they get back on track. (Like they always do.)

So we're done with creature alt-modes again? Back to new versions of the same 6-10 characters?
Starscream looks like a classic Colonial Viper. Shockwave looks like something out of Space Battleship Yamato.

Back to new versions of the same 6-10 characters? This works for me actually. Since I was out of the game for so long, I'm really looking to fill-in a few classic characters with their HEAVILY G1-leaning designs. Didn't get the Leader-class Megatron, Starscrem, or Soundwave from the past few years, so these are hitting the right spot for me. However, after that, it's really up to Hasbro to continue on with the obscure characters if they want to keep me coming back. Micromasters are a good start, but how about some purely Japanese G1 up in here, or perhaps an Armada update or two. Rolling out some Action Master characters the way they pulled off the Pretenders and "weapon guys" for this line would be a treat.

I suppose for me, it's more a thing of I've had good versions of characters for a while. Like, I have plenty of Optimus Primes, but as long as the toy does something new and different, I'm probably down for trying it out.
This is actually why Siege Optimus Prime doesn't work for me. Aside from the goggle lights over the cab, it's not really... new in any way. The robot mode is basically almost identical to PotP Optimus in his combined form, and so there's no real addition to my collection there.
By contrast, I have Classics Starscream for the F-15 look, Leader class Starscream from CW for going well with CW Megatron, PotP Starscream because he's a combiner torso, and I'll be getting Siege Starscream because he's a tetrajet. These all add something new the previous toy didn't have. But if you're looking to compress space and save money, I absolutely understand that doesn't necessarily work for folks.
Hell, I've got some toys that basically I'm looking at either permastorage or finding some way to get rid of because better versions came out (The Takara repaint of RotF Megatron and the TLK Voyager Grimlock because Studio series blew it out of the water for both).
But overall, I suppose the opposite is true to what Mach said. Just because I'm excited doesn't mean you have to be. So long as you aren't trying to drag everyone else down with you, we're cool.

I love some of the figures but meh on others. Just to echo what Mach said, I already have good versions of most of these characters. But at the same time, I'm excited to see some bots get first Classics treatment and others get a second chance at a much needed better toy. I'm glad to see Ironhide/Ratchet get better releases to replace the TFU 2.0 versions and I am hyped as shit to see Reflector finally get a full size release and damn right I plan to buy three to have a true G1 representation. Also micromasters, targetmasters, Cog, Brunt, and Flywheels are on my radar.
Starscream, Megatron, Prime, Ultra Magnus just don't grab me because I'm perfectly happy with previous releases for all those guys. The one reveal that bugs me though is Soundwave and with most of this line having these weathered effects. I don't mind a little weathering but some just hurts the toy more than help it, IMO. I hope Soundwave is just a hand painted prototype because they went way overboard on him. Id probably consider him if they make a less weathered release, but until then, Im sticking with TR Soundwave.

Wonder why they are doing half teams for Micromasters. Excited regardless, Micromasters are one of my favorite parts of G1.
We are getting Cog for Fortress, Brunt for Trypticon, are we gonna see Six-gun for Metro?

We are getting Cog for Fortress, Brunt for Trypticon, are we gonna see Six-gun for Metro? I'm guessing they are only doing two at a time to fit in the MSRP $9.99 (US) price range. I imagine they way tooling, plastic, and all the other reasons we've been told why prices are going up, a true 4 pack would put them in the deluxe class price range or worse yet, they Voyager price range (again based on US prices). But I'm hoping if they do well, they might consider future 2 packs completing the various half teams already announced. I know I plan on buying some Micromasters. I am also pleased to see Cog and Brunt coming so we can "complete" Titan Max and Trypticon. As for Six-Gun...he might be coming too. There was this odd listing from Amazon Australia back in summer. www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/transformers-war-for-cybertron-siege-sixgun-available-for-preorder-on-amazon-australia/41653/

I have wanted a Tetrajet since the closing credits of the cartoon taunted me with it every afternoon as a child. Will buy as many of them as you make, Hasbro. Give me the classic trio at least.
