What are we calling these things now? Authentics? Cyber Battalion? Evergreen? Anyway, you know what you're getting or $10 bucks. Decent size with decent articulation, but with hollow limbs, hardly any paint and no weapons. He's also "some assembly required" as you need to put together the backpack. Comparison with PotP Grimmy. Holding Slag's gun and the third party sword from my other review. Besides the obvious lack of paint, the biggest minus is that his dino jaw doesn't open, but he's a good enough figure for the price.

He might be a cheaper $10 figure, but he definitely looks a bit better than his case mates Prime and BB. He does need some extra paint but I can see this being a good figure to use as an introduction for younger kids getting into Transformers. I've seen him a few times over the last month and I have thought about getting him because he looks like he would make a good Classics updated "Inner Pretender Robot" Grimlock but when I look at him in person, I just can't bring myself to get him.
Hey Goji, I've seen a few reviews where the wings and sometimes the whole backpack keeps popping off and the dinosaur head being hard to snap into place when the wings are folded together. Is yours giving you those issues too?

The plastic of the wings isn't super firm, so it takes a little bit to get the head to tab in, but I don't see it as a huge issue. Same with the backpack popping off. Since they made it for kids to assemble, it will pop off here and there.

Do you have a sense of how hard it would be to take these apart? It might be fun to go full Gunpla on it and paint it up, but if everything is glued and I'd have to break it... maybe not worth the effort.

I was curious about that too. I think I'd like to try and make him into G2 Grimlock.

Plus if I paint it, I can bust out the epoxy putty to fill in those hollow limbs

It might be fun to go full Gunpla on it and paint it up, but if everything is glued and I'd have to break it... maybe not worth the effort. The head and backpack come right off since they need to be assembled anyway. Most everything else is ball-jointed and pops right off. Two exceptions...the knees are held together with some pressed pins. The plastic on the legs is a little firmer so I'd be leery about trying to get those apart. The torso is held together by two small screws, but when I took them out, the two halves did not want to come apart. Again, I'd be hesitant about trying to force it.

Doesn't look too bad. The torso would stay together for painting anyway, and if the knee joints can't come apart it would just require some masking. Overall it looks like it comes apart pretty well.
