I admit, I didnt know the joke about Cloud Starscream had been run so far into the ground by the time I saw it. Intermittent power and internet the last 36 hours due to storm damage has that effect.

Oh, it was more the fact that like, 50% of Reddit has been "Look at the new movieverse [CHARACTER] here!" where you show Thrust and call him Wheeljack or something. Then there's the people genuinely upset that "ZOMG, BLITZWING ISN'T RED!" It's just kind of "wow, that went from moderately amusing to annoying fandumb in like two days flat."

New "Leader Class" BB Movie Optimus PrimeTHIS looks pretty damn amazing. Alot of people thought at first it was just a simple upsize of the original AoE Evasion Mode Optimus Prime with a few tweaks but turns out its a brand new leader sized mold taking all the best points of the aforementioned Evasion Prime. Still has the classic flat nose truck look and movie stylized G1 robot mode but best part is he actually has optional plated or unplated faces. That was the one fail point of AoE Evasion Prime was almost every single release had the mouth look but to get the plated one you had to buy 1 of 2 different Platinum sets. This one is from Takara and unknown if Hasbro is going to release him but I can't see why they wouldn't.

I... have mixed feeling about this.
The Bayverse, to put it bluntly, is not good. I won't complain about things "not being in canon" because there really ISN'T a canon for those movies. Even instances BETWEEN movies don't seem to flow together as they would in regular continuous cinematic productions.
BUT. The Bayverse has been the most prominent piece of Transformers-related media for a decade now. That's long enough for a new target audience to get their start on this franchise (and we'll skip the debate on whether the movies are "age-appropriate" for now). So theoretically, there could be just as many younger fans upset that Bumblebee ISN'T a Camero now.
I think it would be a mistake to throw away every visual or storytelling (straining a definition there, I know) concept from the Bayverse just for the sake of chasing after nostalgia-bucks from GeeWun purists. And, full disclosure- the movie isn't out yet & that may not actually be what's happening. But it certainly FEELS like that's happening based on everything we've seen and heard.
Every series, every movie, every comic can potentially be someone's first leap into the fandom. But if you don't give people a reason to keep coming back, it can just as easily be their last.

I immediately thought of the Cybertron games.
