The funny thing is after this whole discussion cropped up, we had at least three days in the 60s with basically beautiful weather, so....um... go West Coast then?

While I really don't want to be to find out, and now i'm on MY soap box, I don't think even a full on nuclear war would have THAT much impact, long term (talking long term in the geological timescales, obviously. What's 20,000 years? ). I totally agree there, the planet is going to spin with or with out us in the grand scale of deep time. I'd just like to think we're smart enough as a species (overly optimstic I know) to recognize that what we're doing is going to fuck up our own chances. The way things are going I'm pretty sure we're going to be seeing water wars here in the western US in the next hundred years or so.

Plenty of Spring down South. Warm temperatures between 65-80 degrees, sunny skies, oh and also 11 confirmed Tornadoes here in the state last Friday (but thankfully no fatalities). You all are welcome to some if you would share some snow (which my area saw NONE!). It's not even snow, we haven't had any in weeks. It's just been relentlessly cold, wet, windy and gray. I'd like to work on my yard, start doing outside chores and such but it's freezing every day. Our poor tulip bed doesn't know what the hell to do, the leaves came up then they just got...stuck.
