Harry Anderson of Cheers, the original Steven King's It and, most famously, Night Court has been found dead in his home at age 65. No cause revealed yet.

This one really sucks for me. I was always hoping that Night Court would be next on the series reboots list.

I don't think I ever watched Night Court as a kid, but was aware of it (I mostly remember Bull, Roz the longest running bailiff that WASN'T Bull, and that time Christine flashed her chest to get someone's attention and win...something, I don't know).
But I have caught several episodes in recent months on Laff, and...yeah, it mostly holds up. Sure, it has the occasional outlandish element we saw in several sitcoms between the 80's and 90's (Family Matters had robo-Urkel and the DNA-changing chambers, Night Court had a guy that built a literal laser gun), but it still had a lot of grounded, human moments, and from the episodes I've seen, most of them were centered on Harry, in one way or another. It's still genuinely funny, and a lot of its heart comes from the Judge's humanity.
RIP, your honor.

This also really sucks. I never watched alot of Night Court but he was pretty funny in the episodes I have seen. I also know of Dave's World but never saw that show. What I really know him more for is his work with various magic shows either hosting them or having his own segment on said shows displaying some up close slight of hand tricks. I think this was one of Harry's segments, but it involved one of those tiny coffee creamers and a fork. He acted like he had something in his eye, took a fork and pretended to scratch around his eye while he had said eye covered with his hand (hidden in it was the coffee creamer) then he would use the fork to stab the coffee creamer and pretend he poked himself in the eye with the cream leaking out of the cup. The reaction around his small table side audience was hilarious.

Dave's World...that was the name of that other sitcom he was in post-Night Court that I couldn't remember. Can't say I kept up with that one, either.
Didn't know he was actually a magician/illusionist. That clears up some thoughts about certain bits by "Judge Harry Stone".

I watched Night Court all the time as a kid. Used to love that show & Harry was a big part of why it worked. I always thought it was cool that before he got into acting, he was a street magician that used his tricks to hustle people. But then he got a break, and was able to ditch the street hustling for tv & big name magic acts. It’s a cool little success story.
I’ll never forget this interview, where he talked about his time on Cheers. He guest starred a few times over the years & said that the first couple times were great. The cast & crew were friendly & everyone was cool. But the last time, long into the show’s life, everyone had changed. They would all just hide in their trailers or couldn’t be bothered by him. Success had changed the entire atmosphere on the set. And that’s coming from a guy that had his own very successful show & from all accounts, didn’t let it change him too much. He always seemed like a down-to-Earth guy that never let the success go too much to his head. I always liked that about him.
Plus he was just genuinely funny.
RIP, Harry.
