Next, New Mutants moves from April of this year to February of NEXT year. Rumor has it that the film did not test well enough for Fox so the horror feel is being overhauled. That's fine, studio meddling and re-shoots never hurt any other movie, right? That might be for the best. I saw the recent movie trailer for New Mutants and it just didn't thrill me. Honestly, if it wasn't for the fact the word "mutant" was used in the trailer (and for the Marvel Studios logo at the beginning), I wouldn't have known I was watching an X-themed preview.

As someone who wouldn't have seen an X-Men horror film, I can at least respect that they'd be trying to do something a little different, so long as it worked within the context of the characters and their world. But maybe they can make it somewhat suspenseful, if not outright horror.

I know the Gub'ment still needs to approve the Disney deal, but here's the thing about that... It'll go through. What will happen is they may request some alterations but it'll still happen. So that said... Honestly... I can't help but to think that the Marvel arrangement hight have had something to do with all this.
Obviously Deadpool 2's postponement has more to do with not getting crushed by Star Wars: Solo than anything and that makes total sense. Gambit just lost it's director, and at this point in time, I think it's safe to say it's just not happening anymore. Tim Miller's KItty Pryde movie is probably under Marvel's watch. In fact, I suspect that the movie will be the Marvel relaunch into the MCU. But the New Mutants? There's the one thing throwing it for me.
Usually when movies are postponed, it's because they have a significant budget that they NEED to make sure will be recouped. (Examples: G.I.Joe Retaliation, Justice League, Suicide Squad, the upcoming Avatar 2.) But here's the thing... All those movies, their budgets were in surplus of $100 Million or more. From what I'm understanding... New Mutants doesn't have that big of a budget. It's actually a small budget movie, with a smaller budget than Deadpool 1 had. (Not quite Blumhouse production-small, but small.) Even if it sucks, it's a guarantee to recoup the costs. It could suck like the Bye-Bye Man, and still make double the money back. And even so... It's not a budgetary issue that they have to be concerned with anymore, as Disney's money is forthcoming. So it could indeed be a quality issue, as the rumors state... But then the question remains... What are their standards for horror? As we talking they want more jump scares and musical stings? That's what Universal did with 2011's Thing movie and it severely hurt what could have been a great movie by turning it into a bad CGI crap fest. But even so... Why postpone it well into what would be the start of the Mouse ownership?
Something just seems off about it all.

You know what I mean. But yeah, it's not so much going against Solo and Infinity War, as it's being placed between those two. It's a safer bet than having to try and draw attention away from a Star Wars movie one week after it's release, like where it was.

So this is apparently a thing. Not a sequel to Assault on Arkham, and it's got Skinny-Waller.
But hey, R-Rated, so...that'll...entice someone...

I really liked Assault on Arkham, but this seems like it was rushed out to cash in on the live-action movie's cred. I wonder if this will be like the "R-rated cut" of Batman v. Superman where you can't tell why the hell it's rated R.

Well, the "Totally Necessary To Fully Comprehend the Magnificence of the Super-Realistic DC Movies After You've Watched It Eight Times In A Row Edition" of BvS apparently had bare Affleck keister. So, they'll probably find some excuse to get Harley nekkid, even if they don't show nipple. Maybe Waller, since they made her skinny. Maybe they'll recreate that scene in Justice League Unlimited where Batman interrupted her in the shower, except no Batman. So she'd...basically be stepping out of the shower, I guess.
