LOOK! We're from the 90's and we are soooooooo self referential!!!
This is what happens when you completely cut ties with the original writers. Have you learned nothing, Hollywood reboot machine???
>sigh<
So, who's looking forward to WW1984 and WandaVision?

I watched the last episode of the season today. While some of the humor did feel like, basically, their usual takes but for 2020, there was stuff touching on things I've heard/read complaints about for years, regardless of which side, so maybe that's my cynicism showing. Some stuff that felt very self-indulgent for some writers, and, yeah, they mentioned a few times too many that it was a reboot. I also thought their "allegory" for gun control was handled poorly...I couldn't tell it was ABOUT guns until the end and Wakko wasn't getting it. OK KO: Let's Be Heroes did a MUCH better job, I thought. And I thought Dot's song about the First Ladies throughout history was kind of a missed opportunity to highlight some actual achievements, rather than speed-sing most of their names.
I was never busting a gut, but there was SOME fun humor in it, and I was never really bored. Pinky and the Brain felt more consistent, though Brain felt far more malicious than before, and I can't say I much liked it. They tried introducing possibly new recurring segments, but...well, the Gnome felt like a one-off Robot Chicken sketch, but the one about the mini-alien trapped by the little girl has SOME potential at least.
Not a huge triumph, but better than some reboots.
