Just watched the first episode. If you're not signed up at DC Universe (or, like me, can only post on their forums), here's where I watched it: m.wcostream.com/harley-quinn-episode-1-harley-quinnSo, I'm no stranger to mature cartoons, with the swearing and the blood and so on. I've found a few of them to be entertaining, like Archer, but the humor in that show is more wordplay, or based on character interactions. Rick and Morty has a kind of cerebral element to it (I don't think you need to be "super-smart" to get it as some claim), and like South Park, can have an actual point. Harley Quinn has good animation, and the voice acting is fine (something about Lake Bell's Poison Ivy...not bad, but...something). I like Haley Cuoco's Quinn more than Tara Strong's. The pacing was fine, and...well, to get to the point, the show feels like it's missing something. Something that they decided to make up for with more swearing, more blood, and more internal organs strewn around. I didn't hate it, really, it just feels like a lot of wasted potential. I don't know if I'm just not accustomed to these characters in a setting meant to compete with the likes of South Park and Family Guy, or that the writers are writing the juvenile's definition of "mature". I might give it another episode or two, but my hopes aren't exactly high, and it was 22 minutes of me not laughing. Nice seeing her in her jester suit again, though. Guess that's...something?

Sounds like one of my main problems with the Netflix Castlevania series.

So, after watching the second episode I decided that I really like this show. The pacing and dialogue actually seems a little too fast to me, but that could just be my preference for uncomfortable silences and extended looks in comedy. And it’s got Kite Man with his recent catch-phrase. Hell yeah!

I literally JUST finished watching Ep 2, and felt it was Archer-ing even harder.
