So, Generations Selects has been the brand name for some really niche repaints and retools from Hasbro, namely Ricochet and Red Swoop, then G2 Hero Megatron recently. However, Takara just put up some pictures and sillouhettes of toys under the Generations Selects banner as well, rather than their normal Takara Legends brand www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/takara-tomy-reveals-colour-pictures-of-generations-selects-star-convoy-and-teases-others/43181/We'd known about Star Convoy before, but Super Megatron is a complete surprise, and the possibility of MAYBE a retooled Snaptrap to make a Generations Selects Seacons team would be kind of shocking. Moreso if all these are actually Generations Selects, then we might be getting all of these in the US rather than as Takara imports, which is a heck of a thing if we're gonna get all of Takara's weird retools with US releases going forward.

I saw your post yesterday that Star Convoy is up at Hasbro Pulse OM. Been thinking of pre-ordering it.
What is strange is that he is being marketed under the Generations Select name and still being offered by Takara/Tomy and not their LG-EX line. I saw the Hasbro Pulse listing has it listed as a Takara/Tomy release and is selling it at the usual Takara import price (which is not unexpected) but I admit I was kind of hoping he might have seen a more traditional US release as another possible retail exclusive like the recent Amazon POTP Nemesis Prime or the book releases at a more US retail price. Wouldn't have thought twice about pre-ordering this at $50.

Huh, the Cybertronian numbers almost look like the alphabet Sega made up for PSO. Kinda disappointed it isn't now after looking it up, that'd have ensured me buying him.

I'm reserving my enthusiasm until I know availability and price. I'm still annoyed by the price tag on Star Convoy.

My question is how they are going to release the rest of the seacons? Are they going to release them as future single releases over time or pull a CW Scattershot and release a full set later on with another Snap Trap.

There's also the matter of the sixth Seacon that would act as a Targetmaster. Wonder if they'd go so far as to include that functionality.

There's also the matter of the sixth Seacon that would act as a Targetmaster. Wonder if they'd go so far as to include that functionality. Back during Combiner Wars, where they had a Legend class guy be the weapon for a Combiner, it was kinda ideal. Make a normal Quintet, and then have a Legend class Nautilator. Now though? I have no idea. That said, Cutthroat, Rippersnapper, Blot, Swinnertwin and Sludge would make easy retools into Sea Wing, Overbite, Tentakil, Nautilator and Skalor respectively. So I don't think they'll have the weapon option.
