I thought the Machinima stories got better as they progressed, so while it won't get me to join Netflix, it might be decent.

Show runner is FJ DeSanto, the guy responsible for the Machinima series, as well a producer on...
*checks IMBD*
Oh shit, we're in trouble.

Is he the guy responsible for drawing terrible performances out of supremely talented voice actors?

I don't know...
But he's the guy who if he didn't write every single episode, he at least co-wrote it.
I'm not filled with hope here.

Like I said with the Thundercats Roar thread, it must be bleak if you can't find something good to say about a series. Usually you can find a silver lining somewhere in something. EDIT: The more I read that reply above, the more sarcastic it sounds in my head. To paraphase Dr. McCoy: Mach, I find that I can trust your opinions and thoughts more than most other people's facts.

The fact they grabbed people from the recently closed down Machinima isn't automatically a bad thing. I've heard a lot of reports about Machinimas management and attitudes having a hard impact on their creations. Rooster Teeth has a lot more experience at creating actual shows. If it's even close to the quality of the current seasons of RWBY and Gen:LOCK, it's good times ahead.

I have no fears about the animation quality. RWBY and Gen:LOCK are really interesting high bars and Polygon Studios did both TF: Prime and NuRiD... The animation will be just fine.
However, the show runners and the writing teams are what worries me.
- Brandon Easton wrote the free comic day Armada comic (the Swindle one) and the Deviations TF story. (The "What if Optimus didn't die" story.) He also wrote on the 2012 Thundercats, the second season... So yeah.
- George Krstic, while co-creator of Megas XLR (didn't age well, before you get excited) he also proudly admits to being he main writer for Combiner Wars. Not Titans Returns or PotP... Combiner Wars. The REALLY bad one.
- Gavin Hignight has done some stuff, and it's all stuff we've heard of... But he's still very new to the industry. However, he did write some episodes of Cyberverse... Including my favorite one with Blurr and Hot Rod. So that's good.
- And F.J. DeSanto, aside from his run on the Prime Wars Trilogy, he's a producer on The Spirit (The Frank Miller movie), The Turok: Son of Stone DTV movie, and not much else.
The problem I have here is that The Prime Wars trilogy tried WAAAAAYYYY too hard to be edgy and cool. And it didn't work. And looking at the aesthetics of Siege? I can just tell this is going to be one of those "Dark and gritty!" types of TF shows that older fans THINK they want, but actually don't.

That felt more like a bad fanfic that anything else.
