I'm interested to see the Transformers show, since I've seen other stuff by Rooster Teeth that's really great (RWBY, Gen-LOCK), so we'll have to see if they're just animating it or handling story too.

From what I understand, they're doing the story. The animation is done by Studio Polygon... The TF: Prime and NuRiD gang.
I'm... Not that impressed with the trailer. I could rant away about it, but no one really wants to hear me bitch about this shit.

Honestly, as a trailer, it hasn't done anything we haven't seen a dozen times before. It's the 1984 cartoon plot, maybe with a bit of complications. Anything it does well will come out in the actual show, so in that regard, it's mostly just pretty pictures at present.

It's going through all the standard trailer beats pretty much by the numbers.
Optimus having an almost Quixotic obsession with beating the Decepticons is at least (I think?) an angle on the character that hasn't been done before. So, I guess we'll see where that goes.

How long can Hasbro continue the franchise by constantly mining G1? It's like this year's Toy Fair where we saw almost every company going back to the 80's to grab the adult nostalgia money. These types of strategies on not sustainable long term.

Honestly, they're walking a bit of a tightrope, it seems. Some bits of mining are stuff they haven't done in a while or rarely (Sky Lynx, Scorponok, Hoist, Grapple), and some that've been done due to reliability (Optimus, Megatron, Seekers). Titans Return was a TON of old nostalgia that'd never gotten mainline toy use outside of geeky convention exclusives.
How long they can manage it, I think, will be shown here, as they're already doubling down on stuff (Megatron, Datsun Cars, Seekers, Prime) that was just done less than a year ago.
That said, apparently they've got a Beast Wars movie rumored in the works, and Studio Series is mining the movie nostalgia (though that'll be running dry soon unless they put out more movies to feed it), so there's some diversity, but Cyberverse shows how they're trying to make G1 the "evergreen" setting that they can use again and again.

When Earthrise was announced I was worried that it was just going to be redos of Siege figures in Earth modes and that has been partially true with Megatron and Prime (given we would get new ones in almost every line), Smokescreen, and Starscream. I'm hoping with the later two's repaints they might do what they did in Siege with Skywarp and Smokescreen being exclusives, so maybe that will make Earthrise Prowl, Bluestreak, and Thundercracker Select exclusives and free up the main line for other releases. But I am happy we are FINALLY getting some other stuff that hasn't been redone to death. First and foremost, I am beyond happy we are finally seeing some official Quintesson toys other than Gnaw. Also glad to see Scorponok coming. Hopefully that will be my final Titan purchase since I'm running out of shelf space for these guys. Sky Lynx, I am impressed what they did with him and it's a much better execution than the Combiner Wars figure. That being said though, I definitely agree that G1 getting redone over and over is getting way out of hand. Hasbro is so fixated on focusing on 80s nostalgia, they are forgetting that 90s nostalgia is also a thing and they pretty much alienated that fan base with a practically non-existent showing of Beast Wars' 20th anniversary. (I know we are getting BW MPs now but I'm referring to more economical releases for people that can't afford that line ) I really hope that the third series of WFC will switch focus to Beast Wars and give G1 a break or at least maybe dial it back a bit.

Considering Generations is a line aimed at nostalgia fueled adult collectors... I feel like this is just how it is. If they're going to just focus on updating classic stuff though, I wouldn't mind seeing them do more outside of G1 in general, not just BW. Having a new version of Galaxy Convoy was cool. Maybe they'll do more dips into later Japanese stuff, Unicron Trilogy, etc.

I got Ironworks. He's a literal parts former in that you explode him into pieces, and reassamble him in different configurations. One thing in the manual that I don't recall seeing in promo images is that he can become a set of power armor for other deluxes. Kind of cool.
I'm also noticing that while the Earthrise figures look like retools to an extent of Siege figures, so far that's not the case. Prime shares some of his legs with the Siege figure, and that's about it. From what I can tell in review videos, Starscream shares absolutely nothing with the Siege Seekers. I look at Earthrise Megatron and he screams "retool", but maybe not?

I look at Earthrise Megatron and he screams "retool", but maybe not? Yeah, I'm more than happy with my Siege Megatron. I've heard rumors they might do a G2 redeco of Earthrise, and if that's the case... I'll get that one. But otherwise? I'm okay with Siege. I mean, I JUST got the battle damage paint off him. He looks great now!
